Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Consumer Health business to create a new publicly traded company. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 24 months, and it will be subject to legal requirements including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as required, and other customary conditions and approvals.
It is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, this position may be conveyed with New Consumer Health. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to the successful candidate by New Consumer Health at an appropriate time and would be subject to any necessary consultation processes.
As the Manager, Network Automation, you will play a critical role in implementing modern and innovative network automation solutions across the network.
Analyze day-to-day operations to identify new automation opportunities and use cases
Implement automated configuration changes to Infoblox DNS/DHCP/IPAM
Create Automation scripts so other teams can quickly scan the network and parse information
Use Automation tools to analyze the network for compliance
Use Automation for both Change Management and Release Management
Perform the MTO (Managed Take Over) of network devices when required
Partner cross-functionally with other Product Infrastructure teams to continuously improve and apply standards and policies relevant to operational excellence
Establish and maintain regular communications with Engineering, Deployment, Operations Teams, and third-party vendors regarding automating network infrastructure changes
Provide strong technical leadership and guidance on Network Tools and Services strategies, including maturation of existing technologies, new tools and services development, and integrations.
Consult with peer organizations and management on standard methodologies for the process and procedures to deploy & support Network Tools at scale. This includes following SDLC procedures and TQ processes while also providing training, support, documentation, and all users.
Collaborate with the engineering team to drive supportable solution development. Provide knowledge transfer sessions with peer organizations and suppliers regarding changes in procedures, processes, documentation, and frameworks
Leads the development of a release management plan for platform hardware platforms by using tools that can be coordinated by automation/orchestration platforms
Assess the technical ability of the team to determine fit for the role and for upskilling.
Provide direction for other professional-level team members that will be onboarded so they can get up to speed quickly.
This role will be mostly process-driven, but the associate must also have strong technical skills.
The anticipated base pay range for this position is $97,000 USD to $166,750 USD.
BA/BS and a degree in the STEM field is preferred
6 years of relevant technology experience
Demonstrated experience in Git-based SCMs
Demonstrated Infrastructure as Code experience utilizing Python, REST, YAML, AWS CloudFormation, and/or Terraform
Demonstrated experience developing CI/CD pipelines, using containers and/or virtualization, and developing testing solutions
Demonstrated experience with supporting traditional or cloud networks, with a highly available global production infrastructure
Familiarity with any of the following network automation tools: Itential, Django, Flask, Ansible, Nornir, Salt, netconf, netmiko, python-napalm, or openconfig
Basic understanding of network routing and switching (BGP, EIGRP, L2/L3 VPNs, IPSEC)
Passionate about test-driven code and ability to produce simple and elegant solutions
Experience in a similar role with a development or IaC focus preferred
Experience working in and with Agile, Scrum, and Kanban work processes
Familiarity with Jenkins, Atlassian Suite, HashiCorp Vault, and/or Robot Framework
Current knowledge and demonstrated understanding of multi-cloud networking solutions
Experience leading development life cycle process and best practices
Working knowledge of software development methodologies
Comfortable using Linux/Unix CLI
Working knowledge of MPLS, SD-WAN, B2B VPN, Remote Access VPN, LAN, WLAN, Campus networks, Firewalls, and Load-Balancers
Working knowledge of switching and routing protocols, and features like BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, VLAN, VXLAN
Solid understanding of Software-Defined Networking, Cloud Networking, and Network Automation
Knowledge of DevOps Fundamentals, Automation Tooling, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Analytical, data-driven problem solver
Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience communicating highly conceptual designs to executives, mid-level management, and peer engineers
Travel is required up to 10%
