Location: Pittsburgh OR East Coast Remote

How you will make an impact:

The Marketing Manager, Programs is accountable for developing the North American marketing strategy for important segment-agnostic customer lifecycle, merchandizing and content marketing programs within the Fisher Scientific channel. This position will drive and improve program marketing initiatives, developed through a strong understanding of customer and business needs, market dynamics and effective collaboration with the Portfolio Management team, Commercial leadership, other cross-functional partners and suppliers. This programs-focused role ensures the channel is positioned to achieve growth targets and deliver differentiated and valuable solutions to diverse customers and strategic suppliers.

This position also collaborates with Marketing Specialists and Digital Marketing in the successful development and implementation of marketing strategies, campaigns, tactics and performance reporting for program marketing.

What you will do:

  • Lead marketing for identified programs with responsibility to develop marketing and merchandising strategies and solutions in alignment with defined goals and objectives.

  • Own the evolution of marketing programs ensuring relevance for important end market segments and personas.

  • Responsible for the ongoing management of core marketing programs including process ownership and optimization, customer communication and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Develop the strategy to deliver relevant high-, mid- and low-funnel content and progress customers toward conversion.

  • Set priorities for digital marketing, data science and audience development to align with program related business priorities.

  • Continuously optimize, improve and communicate impact and results.

  • Capture and report on market trends, dynamics & competitive intelligence to identify and develop differentiated program solutions driving share of wallet gains.

  • Develop annual marketing plans crafted to propel differentiation, profitable revenue growth, customer acquisition and retention.

  • For designated programs, act as the lead for AOP development and build content for important meetings including but not limited to MBR/QBRs.

  • Identify research needs and goals. Collaborate with the Marketing Analytics & Insights team to craft and implement market research including Voice of Customer interviews. Synthesize research results into concrete strategies and insights.

  • Collaborate with other divisions, Corporate and EU partners as needed.

How you will get here:


  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing or related area


  • 6+ years of program management, merchandizing, customer life cycle marketing or equivalent experience.

  • Current digital channel and content marketing knowledge and website merchandising experience.

  • Experience working with in house market insight and analytics resources while also building an independent approach to sourcing information to guide efforts.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Ability to develop & implement strategies and sound recommendations based on both quantitative and qualitative inputs with intuitive understanding of financial drivers.

  • Proven track record encouraging customer growth and conversion across life cycle stages.

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to function in a sophisticated, matrix business environment.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation experience to large and diverse audiences.

  • Proficient with MS Office; knowledge of PowerBI and Workfront is helpful.

  • Understanding of channel relationships/distribution business model highly desired.

  • Knowledge of the laboratory products industry is helpful.
