Cordis Manager, FP&A, Global Innovation (Remote) in Boston, Massachusetts

SUMMARY: This Manager of FP&A, Global Innovation, will be a Strategic Business partner for the Cordis VP R&D, Chief Medical Officer (responsible for Clinical and Medical Affairs), Cordis VP Global Strategic Marketing and Director Business Development.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Modeling, challenging assumptions and assessing value opportunity of new projects as well as tracking performance of launched Innovation projects is a key responsibility.

  • Projects may include Internally managed New Product Development priorities as well as external New Business Development partnership agreements.

  • Building financial models that leverage assumptions from the various marketing and commercial teams to support NPV analysis is a critical part of the scope for this role.

  • Provide analysis in support of the monthly Project Investment Board (PIB) stage gate project review process.

  • From time to time, participate as a core team member for pre launch project phases.

  • Participate in the long Range portfolio opportunity analysis on a biannual basis.

  • The role is supported by a direct report that is responsible for Budget, Forecast, Actual analysis for Cordis R&D and Clinical spend budgets worldwide.

  • Perform NPV analysis for internal New Product Development projects through coordination with marketing, manufacturing and operational finance contacts.

  • Model value associated with external Business Development Product Distribution partnerships.

  • Support Project level expense tracking and forecasting for projects within the R&D portfolio

  • Heavy business partnering required with functional leads from each area

  • Drive the R&D, Clinical Trials, Medical Affairs, Clinical Education and CME grant functional annual budgeting process

  • Analyze actual spend and forecast changes versus budget throughout the year

  • Analyze and submit accrual entries required at month and quarter end to ensure appropriate expense is incurred for R&D projects and Clinical Trials expense

  • Support ad hoc analysis and dig into variance drivers to support management discussion and decisions

  • Support Capital Appropriation Requests for Capital investments. Complete CARs (Capital Approval Requests) and forecast and track spend against approved CARs and Budget required Capital for future years

  • Review term sheets and provide finance feedback

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and a thorough understanding of concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform varied tasks and projects

  • May contribute to the development of policies and procedures

  • Works on complex projects of large scope

  • Develops technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are innovative and consistent with organization objectives

  • Completes work independently receives general guidance on new projects

  • May act as a mentor to less experienced colleagues

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors’ degree in related field, Finance or similar

• 8+ years of experience in related field, including but not limited to Finance, Audit, or Accounting

• Knowledge with SAP, JDE, Legal Contracts, and Market Modeling a plus
