This position is remote. However, candidates may be required on occasion to visit the local office when/if needed. Candidates must reside in a state where there is a DLA Piper office.
5 years’ experience in lawyer-focused talent roles, with a history of increased responsibility
2 years’ supervisory experience
Superior written and oral communication skills with a strong executive presence
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well under pressure and successfully manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and priorities and exhibit business acumen
Juris Doctor or other advanced degree
Experience in legal practice and executive search expertise
What will your day look like?
The Manager of Career Development will assist with design and implementation of the external career opportunities strategy that advances the firm’s strategy. This includes cultivating excellent working relationships with key stakeholders.
You will create and implement protocols and best practices for assisting firm lawyers seeking in-house opportunities, including leveraging the firm’s extended professional network, facilitating introductions, and providing appropriate resources related to career support.
You will establish and cultivate relationships with practice leaders and liaisons to identify appropriate candidates for client-based and other strategic in-house opportunities, and otherwise build and strengthen the value and visibility of the external career opportunities platform and strategy. You will maintain and actively manage a portfolio of high-level candidates and open positions. You will also contribute thought leadership to the firm’s business strategy on talent development-career transitions, including working with comms on content for the career portal and the alumni newsletter. You will supervise and collaborate closely with the Career Opportunities Coordinator.

In accordance with New York City’s Pay Transparency Law, pay range for this position, if hired to work in New York City is $117,150 - $156,200. The compensation offered to a candidate selected for employment will be dependent upon various factors, including the candidate’s geographic market, skills, educational and professional background, experience and overall qualifications.
