Meta Localization Program Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary:

Languages are key to our mission of bringing the world closer together. The Meta family of apps is currently available in 100+ languages and we are adding many more. Over 70% of people use our products in a language other than English, and 90% are outside of North America. As a Localization Program Manager, you will drive product teams to deliver a great user experience to our international audience.

Required Skills:

Localization Program Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Engage and build relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Product, Engineering, Marketing, etc.) to launch successful localized products

  2. Design and implement efficient and scalable end-to-end localization frameworks for multiple products and diverse content types across the Meta family of apps

  3. Guide product teams across the Meta family of apps to ensure localizability best practices are followed to minimize downstream issues and decrease cost and time-to-market for the localized versions

  4. Proactively identify and prioritize technical and process issues that affect localized product relevancy, quality, and functionality

  5. Partner with vendors to ensure that the right resources are in place and all deliveries are completed at the expected standards

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. 3+ years of experience in localization, or equivalent project management or program management experience

  2. BA/BS or 2+ years equivalent work experience in localization, internationalization, project management, or program management

  3. Experience communicating across a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, working across time zones and international offices

  4. Experience processing and analyzing complex data sets, and interpreting them to make business decisions

  5. Skilled in building and optimizing complex workflows

  6. Understanding of how to drive results in cross-functional teams

  7. Track record of stay focused, prioritizing and creating structure across large, ambiguous programs and setting goals for successful product launches

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Knowledge of additional languages other than English

  2. Exposure to SQL, analytics tools, or a coding language

  3. Thorough understanding of translation technologies like translation memories, machine translation, and CAT tools

  4. Familiarity with internationalization standards such as Unicode and CLDR

  5. Experience working with localization vendors
