Senior Learning Experience Designer


Bellevue, WA

Smartsheet is looking for a digital learning professional to join our team as a Sr. Learning Experience Designer. You have an extensive portfolio of digital learning products that have solved real business and customer problems. As a Senior Learning Experience Designer in Support you'll put our customers above all else and have a passion for creating innovative learning solutions. You'll work as part of a motivated and supportive team with ownership over our customer-facing, digital learning products. You'll also mentor other Learning Experience Designers in graphic design, UX/UI for digital learning, and all aspects of learning project management. Strong graphic design skills and knowledge of human-computer interaction is essential and of course becoming a certified Smartsheet user is critical to your success.

You will report to our Manager of Instructional Design and this role is fully remote eligible!

You Will:

  • Design and develop creative, customer-centric, performance-based digital training materials

  • Manage learning product development projects including scoping, managing SMEs, and working with other departments to deliver on time, every time

  • Work with distributed training teams across Smartsheet to keep up-to-date on all learning projects

  • Collaborate with our Training Team and Subject Matter Experts in creating storyboards/scripts and production ready content

  • Work with other training teams across the organization to ensure alignment on projects and products

  • Pursue a deep understanding of customers and work with SMEs to ensure that learning products meet customer needs

  • Manage and improve our digital training style guides

  • Analyze learning data and make recommendations to improve quality, behavioral impact, and recommend new learning product offerings

  • Be an Administrator for the Learning Management System (LMS). Maintain systems, create user profiles, create usage reports, publish SCORM, video, and other digital content

  • Stay current on new learning approaches, behavioral science, technology, and tools and apply knowledge to our learning products

  • Mentor and provide feedback to Learning Experience Designers on their work

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

  • 7+ years experience in instructional design and developing learning content

  • 2+ years mentoring or coaching instructional designers or learning experience designers

  • Proficiency in Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Camtasia, and Adobe Creative Cloud

  • A portfolio of eLearning, video, and graphic design projects. Portfolio should reflect strong graphic design skills and attention to detail with a sophisticated and clean aesthetic.

  • Experience scoping, designing, prototyping, test, building, and launching digital training

  • Experience planning for and analyzing data driven learning experiences using SCORM or xAPI data

  • Proven experience collaborating with subject matter experts in a SaaS company

  • Experience managing, monitoring, reporting on all curriculum and assessment data

  • LMS administration experience, including eLearning publishing and learning assessments

  • Advanced knowledge of media development (image, video, audio)

  • Intermediate knowledge of web development (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript)

  • Excellent written (writing and editing) and verbal skills
