Your Opportunity
Stantec Planning and Landscape Architecture Inc., one of New England’s leading Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Site-Planning, and Urban Design firms is seeking a full time Project Landscape Architect for our Causeway Street studio in Boston.
We design urban parks and plazas, transportation corridors, campus settings, waterfronts and mixed-use centers that enhance our communities. Our experienced inter-disciplinary team specializes in urban public space design and planning; campus design and planning, park design; bicycle, pedestrian, and multiuse trails; outdoor sports and athletic facilities; transit-oriented development; and landscape assessment and rehabilitation. Our friendly fast-paced studio environment is business casual and client-centered.
The preferred candidate has recent experience with public projects, including public parks, complete streets, linear parks (rail trails) and transportation enhancements. Clients will be both State and Municipal, as well as supporting internal Stantec groups on other public projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
You will work with close guidance and supervision on tasks and smaller projects, and as a team member of a larger project under the guidance of a Senior Landscape Architect.
In this entry level position, you will develop technical skills and assist the project team with drawings and drafting in the creative design process. Being creative and detail oriented, you will create design documents, together with conceptual and final landscape designs, renderings, cost estimates, scope of work, specifications, and other construction documents, including local requirements.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp and/or Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office
Excellent grading skills
Knowledge of construction document preparation
Familiarity with plant materials suited to the Northeast region.
Proficient hand drafting and sketching abilities resulting in strong conceptual designs.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Landscape Architecture program
1-3 years of internship and/or full-time experience in a detail-oriented office environment
Licensure in Landscape Architecture is not required but is advantageous
Strong time management, critical thinking, and organization skills
Comfortable with being productive independently with limited supervision.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
