Hatch is seeking aLandscape Designerto join its team inBoston, MAto assist with current and exciting future projects. The Boston team is a center of excellence focusing on green infrastructure (GI) design, landscape architecture, sustainable site design, landscape restoration, urban forestry, and climate change resiliency. Our capability spans through the whole project lifecycle, comprising conceptual design, feasibility studies, basic and detailed engineering, construction administration, monitoring and long-term management.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a candidate with a strong interest in sustainable landscape architecture that is well organized, resourceful and creative. You will work with engineers, ecologists and earth scientists on projects associated with complete and green streets, parks and greenways, constructed wetlands, shoreline restoration and sustainable site development.

Candidates should be able to work independently as well as part of a large interdisciplinary team and have strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills. As Landscape Designer, you will progress design concepts through design development and work with the project team to produce Construction Documents. You will also provide analysis, design and construction observation support for a wide range of regional projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on sustainable projects of multiple scales and types.

  • Support in the development of illustrative renderings, initial design drawings, presentation materials, and construction documents.

  • Construction oversight (restoration, urban tree planting) and field investigations (soils, urban forestry).

    Desired Knowledge and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture.

  • At least one (1) year of landscape architectural design experience.

  • Proficient with AutoCAD and Photoshop

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, BIM 360, ProjectWise, Revit, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Illustrator is a plus

  • Knowledge and experience with LEED® and SITES® rating systems is a plus

  • General knowledge and understanding of native plant communities encouraged.

  • Portfolio or work samples will be required if considered for an interview

  • Must have valid driver’s license
