The investor relations manager is responsible for effectively communicating the key messages to the prospective as well as the existing investors, preparing the investment related presentations, and assisting in preparing reports to perform financial analysis and use this as the basis for effective interaction with the customers. He/she is involved in the most significant strategic and financial factors affecting the company. He/she should be able to synthesize and simplify the ideas and work collaboratively in a team to accomplish the goals and ensure success. Responsibilities include performing in depth financial analysis, researching the market and monitoring the trading trends and obtaining answers from the organization for the questions raised by the investors.
Responsibilities
Support the Senior Vice President of Investors Relations in executing the Investor Relations (IR) program
Identify and implement strategic and tactical ideas for the continuous improvement of the IR program
Develop and maintain an understanding of the company’s businesses and markets and remain aware of publicly disclosed information
Facilitating conferences and meetings
Support the earnings preparation process, including interaction with internal teams to obtain data and content and process management
Perform ad-hoc analysis in conjunction with EFP&A to support earnings process and quarterly messaging
Support the development and maintenance of investor presentations, press releases, scripts and Q&A briefing documents
Maintain internal analyst estimate consensus report
Preparation and planning of Investor Day
Support evaluation of market and peer data
Attend investor meetings with senior management and SVP of IR, taking notes of discussions for future reference and following up on information requests. o Track changes in shareholder base o Help in measuring performance against interactions
Assist development and implementation of investor targeting
Support consistent corporate messaging through review of marketing press releases, supplemental, analyst reports, investor presentations, shareholder reports and reconcile discrepancies
Develop strong relationships and credibility with key internal teams, including finance, legal and multiple business units, to build a better understanding of the company and to execute job responsibilities efficiently and effectively, and promote the Investor Relations function within the organization.
Handle day-to-day broker and retail investor requests and coordinate resolution of matters with transfer agent
Liaise and consult with various industry stakeholders such as Nareit, National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI), share registry and other financial services providers to keep abreast of latest developments
Collaborate with legal and compensation to assist in preparation of annual report wrap and proxy
Together with SVP of IR, maintain IR budget
Manage IR portion of website for timeliness and accuracy/coordinate updates o Monitor technology advances and recommend adoption, where appropriate
Develop relationships and manage contracts with IR service providers
Qualifications
The individual aspiring to stabilize in this field should be well equipped with knowledge in investor relations, valuation methodologies, financial accounting,
He/she should be able to develop a sense of credibility within the investor community and the organization's management team
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to explain complex topics in a clear, simple, and concise manner
Familiarity with rules and regulations and professionalism are the most critical factors
Exceptional attention to details combined with strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and strong follow up skills would be an asset
Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, required
Excellent presentation communication skills and business acument
Master's degree/MBA preferred
