State of Massachusetts Internal Communications Intern in Boston, Massachusetts
The Executive Office of Technology Services and Security (EOTSS)is the lead enterprise technology organization for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Charged with driving the ongoing alignment of business and technology across the Commonwealth’s Executive Branch, EOTSS oversees and manages the enterprise technology, digital infrastructure and services, as well as the Commonwealth Security Operations Center and an enterprise Standard Operating Environment that includes an information security and risk management framework for over 125 state agencies and over 43,000 state employees. TheInternal Communications Internwill focus on developing effective and engaging internal communications, while also supporting our communications with partners externally to TSS. The ideal candidate will have an interest in developing and executing internal communication strategies in a technological environment. This role will report to the Director of Internal Communications in the Office of the Chief of Staff and work in collaboration with departments across the executive office. The primary work location for this role will beOne Ashburton Place, Boston, MA, 02108. The work schedule for this position isMonday through Friday, 9:00AM to 5:00PM EST.This position is expected to follow ahybridmodel of reporting to work that combines in-office workdays and work from home days as needed. All offers of employment into this position are conditional and subject to passing: a Massachusetts Criminal Background Check (CORI); a security clearance (fingerprinting) consistent with IRS and/or public safety requirements; and security training. Duties and Responsibilities: * Work closely with the Director of Internal Communications and other team members in the Office of the Chief of Staff to communicate organizational announcements, key issues, and upcoming events. * Ensure all communications articulate proper content and image of the organization across all mediums and maintain consistent messaging and tone of voice. * Develop engaging and informative content for various internal communication channels, including employee newsletter, intranet, emails, and other multimedia platforms. * Support the development of messaging for TSS social media platforms. * Support the development of messaging to technical partners in other secretariats. * Help with the planning of key external fall events. * Monitor, measure, and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * *Pursuing a career in communications or related field. * Interest in technology industry trends and terminology. * Proficiency with Microsoft products (preferred). * Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information. * Excellent attention to detail, writing, and editing skills. * Professional, positive, self-motivated, and collaborative. *First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.
