Autodesk Intern, Generative Design Research in Boston, Massachusetts

As a Research Intern you will get hands on experience with understanding the needs of product designers and help develop new tools, technologies, and workflows to advance Autodesk's Design & Manufacturing software offerings. You will partner with a member of the Research team to investigate new and innovative approaches for optimizing structures of all kinds.
We use Autodesk Fusion 360 & Inventor, 3D printers, metal fabrication technology, Visual Studio, Github . This role must work in-person at our Boston office during the internship.
Working with a dedicated mentor who will help you navigate through Autodesk as a whole while exploring other research areas to grow your expertise
Attending team meetings to coordinate & align independent and collaborative research activities
Hands on software development/technology exploration to gain insights and share findings
Diving into the capabilities of cutting-edge technology through research papers from academic institutions and/or analysis of competitive software offerings
Must be currently enrolled in a full-time,degree seeking program with an expected graduation date in 2024 and a focus in engineering
Prior experience with 3D CAD software / product design software
Proven track record of cross collaborating with various teams and environments
Excellent project management and communication skill
Exposure to next generativedesign tools (Generative Design, Topology Optimization, CAE)
Experience in programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, C++)
Knowledge ofassembly design and traditional & advanced manufacturing methods
About the US Intern Program
The 2023 U.S. program runs for 12 weeks (May 22 – August 11 or June 12 – September 1). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, work alongside peers from universities all over the country and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development. US recruiting begins in the Fall and concludes end of March. Our Internships align with Autodesk’s Flexible Workplace approach, which is designed to meet the needs of our business while providing flexibility in support of office, remote and hybrid work preferences.

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting annualized base salary between $41,000 and $81,400. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
