As the Innovation Manager, you’ll sit at the heart of our incubation and innovation work in the US. You’ll collaborate with both lines of business in the US to identify new ideas that could be part of Jacobs’ continued evolution and transformation. You’ll coach and support the idea owner to get proposal “investment ready” before starting the real work of steering, coaching, leading and driving the incubation team to bring the idea to reality, using our Beyond If Incubation pathway. Just like entrepreneurs bring teams together to grow real businesses, the you’ll bring internal teams together to grow real innovative solutions. The main focus of your role will be hands on incubation of strategic initiatives, whilst also coaching and teaching the others how to follow the Incubation pathway. This role is about hands on incubation and solution development, not strategy and planning.
As the Innovation Manager, you’ll:
Collaborate with the technical owner, business sponsor and product owner, drive and lead an incubation team to develop new innovative solutions following our Beyond If incubation pathway This will involve providing business strategy /commercial thinking / customer insight / incubation process advice to the team as it works. This will also involve a fair degree of overall project direction and leadership. You’ll drive each incubation project and be the north star guidance for the team.
Manage the financial aspects of the incubation process such as bidding for funding through our investment panels and then managing funding spend throughout the process.
Manage the stakeholders in the incubation process including senior members of the Lines of Business and corporate, always ensuring the relevant stakeholders are informed during the incubation process and that the solution fits with Line of Business priorities.
Provide a strong product management capability into the incubation teams and more generally provide product management advice to the business. • Partner with the sales and marketing team to launch the solution and drive early sales and adoption. Once the solution is established, you’ll work with the Line of Business to embed it into business as usual.
Provide advice and coaching to early stage idea teams to get them “investment ready” to incubate.
Provide advice and coaching to ideas that are being incubated within an operating unit. This may include periodic check in meetings or taking part in review panels
Provide advice and coaching on the overall Beyond IF Incubation Pathway to the Line of Businesses so that they understand the process and can follow it themselves.

*The position will be a mix of Remote and in-office in Boston, Denver, or New York City.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Advanced experience in digital incubation, lean start up, product development, new solution creation, with hands on experience and skills in incubating real solutions.
Experience driving a team to incubate, teaching and coaching the strategy around lean start up
Experience with business development / product development process and some experience of lean start up agile process and knowledge of key issues and trends in digital Ideally, you’ll also have:
Experience or a background in Infrastructure /civil engineering
