State Street Head of User Experience Design - VP in Boston, Massachusetts

*Job Description:*

The GlobalLink Solutions Product Team focuses on bringing technology, products, infrastructure, distribution and data together across GlobalLink, wider State Street and external partners to leverage the ecosystems that we have created and to service the ever-changing needs of our collective clients. Solutions teams also partner with GlobalLink Executions business to enhance the client experience, drive new business to our platforms and create new sources of uncorrelated revenue.

As the Head of User Experience (UX) Design, you will lead product design initiatives to create a vision and strategy for our user interfaces and work with our clients to significantly enhance their experience. You will also work hand in hand with the Product and Engineering teams to steer and guide the process of developing new and improved products from conception to launch.

*Responsibilities*:

  • Lead the UX Design initiatives to evolve the user experience for GlobalLink client facing platforms and services.
  • Own the end-to-end design process of the team, ensuring on time, detailed, and polished deliverables
  • Provide customer focused leadership by working closely with the business and technical teams to develop product strategy, use cases, and high-level requirements that ensure alignment across our professional brands
  • Develop and build relationships across teams and disciplines to promote collaboration and efficiency across GlobalLink
  • Ensure our web and mobile UX support measurable business requirements and goals
  • Use market analyses and customer research findings to drive design decisions
  • Collaborate effectively with an agile, multi-disciplinary team to evaluate the feasibility of proposed designs and champion great UX in the face of technical constraints
  • Work with researcher and product management to appropriately assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features
  • Incorporate data-driven insights to guide UX strategy
  • Provide full hands-on design work as needed, iteratively creating interaction flows, wireframes, visual, interactive prototypes, and detailed design specifications
  • Present design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership and gain buy in on proposed approach
  • Hire, manage, mentor, and develop designers and researchers within and beyond your team

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years as manager of small to medium size design teams
  • Demonstrate a portfolio of work with a proven track record for solving difficult UX design problems and simplifying difficult business process to intuitive interfaces for customers
  • Experience closely collaborating with technical teams and ensuring designs work within their development libraries and frameworks
  • Experience working with an iteration based development process such as SCRUM
  • Experience creating services and applications with multiple user touchpoints on different platforms and devices
  • Experience as a leader of multi-disciplinary creative teams
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills including the ability to present design concepts clearly and persuasively to colleagues, partners, stakeholders and especially to senior executives
  • Ability to work efficiently and demonstrate a bias for action in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business needs and customer expectations
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
