Key Performance Objectives of the Role

Adapting to and working within a working environment where resources are very carefully managed, new systems and processes are being implemented to improve operational practices and customer loyalty and a people culture that is shifting from low to high accountability/performance, the successful candidate will need to:

Manage the Marketing function

The Head will manage all Marketing resources (personnel and financial) across IQVIA Clinical Technology.She shall have a team of both full time employees and necessary contracted resources and vendors with the specific skill sets necessary to achieve all marketing objectives as outlined below. In particular, the Head will need to:

  • Create and manage goals and objectives for each team member, consistent with corporate objectives but specific to each role and team member

  • Work with each team member to define their career objectives and gain skills towards those objectives (as consistent with corporate objectives)

  • Manage budgeted costs, including external spend and internal FTE costs within budget

  • With Chief Commercial Officer, set Marketing specific goals and objectives, and track/monitor achievement of such

  • Determine the appropriate balance of internal and external resources to achieve corporate objectives

  • Produce, and at time present, executive updates for management team, board, or others requiring an update of marketing activities, goals, and objectives throughout the year

  • Participate in annual budgeting exercises, and maintain and manage to forecasts throughout the year

  • Assure that every marketing activity is aligned to at least one of the four tenets of (1) brand awareness, (2) customer loyalty, (3) demand generation, and (4) sales support. Continually monitor marketing mix to assure each tenet is addressed, with the mix to be defined by the Head and Chief Commercial Officer.

  • Assure that each business unit within Clinical Technology gets appropriate marketing support, and maintain a balance of general support/specific business unit support, as defined by the Head and Chief Commercial Officer.

Produce materials to drive leads and revenue, and support the Sales team

A critical value of Marketing and the primary goal is how the function can support the Sales team. Marketing must produce relevant materials to help the team consistently and effectively sell the solutions through a variety of channels.To that end, the Head shall:

  • Meet divisional revenue targets.

  • Implement a process to generate, track, and monitor any new leads, including closure of leads. Leads are defined as an opportunity identified via a Marketing effort from an existing client or new prospect.

  • Generate a continually growing number of quality leads each quarter, with an increasing mix from brand new prospects or solutions to existing clients.

  • Assure that contact attempts from are complete within 2 business days from receipt, and at least 90% of all leads have responded within two weeks from receipt of such lead.

  • Consolidate all existing Sales presentations, one pagers, and other materials.

  • Assure that each solution has a case study available online and in paper form. Once produced, at least two new case studies each year for each solution.

IQVIA Clinical Technology integration and brand awareness

As IQVIA desires to create a market leading position as a technology driven clinical trial solution provider, it is critical that appropriate actions are taken to create that awareness in the market place. This individual will also be the primary interface with IQVIA corporate marketing to coordinate all activities as possible, including the brand transformation, conference strategies, website strategies, and otherwise working with the corporate teams to assure that IQVIA Clinical Technology is clearly defined and coordinated across multiple groups.To that effect, the Head will need to take the actions to create and measure brand awareness all stakeholders.

Create a customer loyalty program and atmosphere

The Head will be responsible to lead a customer loyalty program, and create an atmosphere where ‘every client is delighted’ throughout the year. It is not enough to manage clients and issues, but we want clients to view IQVIA Clin Tech as a refreshing, innovative company who clients love to work with. To that end, the Head shall:

  • Produce an integrated IQVIA Clin Tech User Summit with over 90% ‘exceptional’ (or similarly graded) feedback.

  • Implement, or continue, client satisfaction surveys or similar feedback mechanisms across all services.

  • Produce customer specific materials and value adds throughout the year, such as newsletters, tip sheets, or other user desired tactics.

  • Create, or participate in, a forum to obtain real customer feedback for all solutions, including customer driven PR, webinars, conference presentations, etc.
