Amazon Web Services GM, Sales Engagement Platform in Boston, Massachusetts


Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a General Manager for new sales engagement and sales automation solutions that will revolutionize how our go-to-market teams engage our customers. These products will drive both efficiency and effectiveness of sales engagement - increasing seller productivity and improving business outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to grow and scale a brand-new business that operates as an independent “startup” within AWS, providing an ideal mix of entrepreneurial DNA, while executing at the scale of AWS.

The leader will have full business ownership, including managing software development, product management, data science, UX, operations, enablement, and GTM teams. The leader will be responsible for setting and driving the vision for the team and execution with internal and external stakeholders and partners. The opportunity is to first test and scale this with AWS, with the goal to externalize in the future. This is a strategic initiative and the project is visible at the highest levels of the company.

Key job responsibilities

The ideal leader will:

  • Bring a think big product vision to re-imagine how go-to-market teams spend more time engaging customers

  • Have the ability to provide hands-on technical leadership to drive execution of that vision to delivery

  • Deliver the change management needed to successfully implement these solutions within AWS, and then externalize for AWS customers

  • Effectively manage large programs, manage stakeholders, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance business needs versus technical constraints

  • Know how to balance competing priorities from a wide range of stakeholders.

  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups

  • Rise to the challenge of delivering innovative customer experiences

  • Be a genuinely inclusive leader, who enthusiastically builds and leads a diverse team spanning those multiple sites (Boston and Seattle).

  • Have 15+ years of experience leading businesses - including end-to-end product, development, and GTM


· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

· Several years of experience managing managers and leaders of large organizations.

· Proven ability to dive deep into software and systems architecture

· Proven ability to dive deep into think big and develop a product vision

· Proven ability to transform operational processes through automation

· Experience in GTM and P&L responsibility

· Proven track record talent management on teams of multiple disciplines and job families


· Experience in sales and marketing software

· Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive

· Experience building and running SaaS products

· Organized individual with great attention to detail and focus on quality

· A self-motivated individual; a good team player

· Ability to thrive in a start-up-like environment

  • Excellent communicator

  • Self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity, and an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
