Alexion AstraZeneca’s Rare Disease Global Value Access and Pricing (GVAP) team is seeking a qualified Senior Manager to be part of a dynamic and growing team with responsibility for programs with near term new product launches and label expansions.
As a key team member within the GVAP Team you will lead the development and execution of value, access and price strategies for launch assets to support patient access to our medicines.
This is a strategic role leveraging your understanding and application of global/health care/HTA system knowledge, competitive insights and clinical understanding, to shape market access, pricing and reimbursement success for two critical product launches and indications.
The ideal candidate for this role has an understanding and application of global payer / HTA / health care systems for market access, pricing and reimbursement success within the biopharma industry.
You will be responsible for:
GLOBAL VALUE, ACCESS AND PRICING, LEAD:
Develop Global market access and pricing strategies and market access roadmaps in close partnership with global value, launch, and program teams
Create and roll out of strategic value, access and pricing communication tools and materials to support local P&R submissions and negotiations such as pricing frameworks, negotiation strategy & toolkits, etc. per the enterprise-wide launch framework
Design and maintain platform to house “GVAP Deliverables” across the portfolio, identifying and cross-fertilizing best practices
Support the brand launch and access leads in launch readiness preparation and roll out to the countries.
Conduct payer and value assessments to identify key market specific P&R drivers and barriers to develop differentiated value propositions, inform evidence generation plans, regulatory strategy and development decisions
Represent GVAP perspective and strategy across various cross-functional teams (including Global Program Teams, Global Launch Teams) and provide updates and guidance to Regional/local teams, as necessary
Keep up to date with scientific developments, bringing the latest techniques and analyses to build the strongest possible value proposition.
Partner with HEOR and development teams to execute a plan to address identified data gaps through HEOR studies, publications, and messaging
Understand the patient perspective of the disease and recommend strategies that can support the patient voice in key payer negotiations.
Demonstrate ability to take initiative and consistently deliver high-quality work products.
Communicate frequently and effectively with Alexion leadership and other identified stakeholders including close collaboration local market access colleagues and with the Commercial Launch Excellence function.
You will need to have:
Relevant Graduate degree e.g. PharmD, biomedical science, business, or economics.
Relevant drug development and/or commercialization experience within the pharmaceutical/medical industry.
Knowledge of the needs and expectations of national and regional payers, insurers, and commercial customers in our strategic markets. Knowledge and experience in key HTA markets (e.g., DE, FR, UK) are appreciated

We would prefer for you to have:
Experience in a commercial or payer strategy function, e.g., managed markets, business development , pricing/access.
Experience working with clinicians, pharmacists and payers on evidence-based customer solutions, e.g., through working with local payers in EU or commercial customers in the US.
Experience constructing payer value stories and incorporating these into TPPs
Experience in country or regional pharmaceutical role
Ability to take people with you and bring the best out of others
Excellence and precision in communication: credible and persuasive
