Eaton Corporation Global Project Specification & Pursuit Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

Eaton’s Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) organization is currently seeking a Global Project Specification and Project Pursuit Manager to join our team. This position can based in Houston, TX, or remotely in the United States or United Kingdom.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for global specification and project pursuit strategy and order execution through project pipeline management, coordination between our GEIS product lines, global sales team and Eaton oil & gas organization, implementing project specification initiatives and managing global AVL’s.

This position is primarily responsible for leading the GEIS project pursuit and specification activities globally. Key focus includes project pursuit strategy and order execution through project pipeline management team, coordination between GEIS product lines, global sales team and Eaton energy infrastructure account management and project management organization, implementing project specification initiatives and managing global AVL’s. Primary geographies include North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Middle East.

The candidate will work closely the GEIS global sales and marketing teams, other Eaton Divisions and the energy infrastructure solutions team to create alignment and execution on project pursuit plans. This includes the implementation of project pursuit strategies for each project across relevant product lines and geographies. The incumbent will also work with product line and sales leaders to establish specification and competitive selling tools and strategies to support project pursuit efforts.

In conjunction with global sales and marketing teams, the candidate will aid in bid pricing strategies including tracking win / loss and pricing by end-user, EPC and competitor to support future bid activities. Along with this the candidate will support the creation, presentation and approval of bid documents.

The candidate, with support of the global sales team, will develop a coordinated approach to managing AVL’s (approved vendor lists) and AML’s (approved manufacturing locations). This includes the creation of a database for end-users and EPC’s and when appropriate supporting efforts to add or change products or manufacturing locations.

Activities for this position require strong leadership, communication across levels in the organization, short term and long-term execution through timely and quality decision making, and ability to execute cross-functionally.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with the global sales team to update Group project pipeline

  • Implement coordinated project pursuit strategies for each project across each product line and geography, where necessary coordinating with other Eaton divisions and with the Eaton energy infrastructure solutions team

  • Ensure global alignment with Eaton energy market sales leaders including both regional leaders and global account managers

  • Work with product lines on specification strategy and competitive intelligence to create tools and other collateral to support project pursuit efforts

  • With the support of the global sales team, for end-users and EPC’s create an AVL (approved vendor list) and AML (approved manufacturing locations) database and where appropriate support efforts to add or change products and manufacturing locations

  • Work in conjunction with the pricing team, maintain project pricing database by customer and competitor to support bid pricing strategy

  • Work in conjunction with global sales leaders, support creation of DOA bid documents and assist in bid approval process

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required

  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience working on global projects in the electrical industry

  • Minimum 10 years of sales or product management experience or working in a technical role

  • Ability to travel internationally

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA

  • Broad knowledge electrical products market

  • Experience in communications across broad groups including customers and executive management

  • Working with international cross-functional teams
