Location/Division Specific Information

The Genetic Sciences Division ( GSD ) is a $1.7 billion business with 1100+ employees across the globe. GSD provides high value genomic information to assist critical decisions in research and applied markets, including Basic Research, Clinical Research, Diagnostics, Forensics and AGBio.

How will you make an impact?

The Global Market Development Specialist will assist in developing and executing marketing campaigns for the Licensing and Commercial Supply [LCS] team, using a customer-centric go-to-market approach. Our strategic intent is to nurture OEM partnerships with commercial customers developing an in-direct sales channel for the businesses we serve.

This position will be a key contributor to accelerate growth in the Genetic Sciences Group. The role has global impact with work in all major and emerging markets; from startups to the largest multi-national diagnostic companies. The marketing team objectives are to present Thermo Fisher OEM capabilities in innovative ways that drive lead generation, education and partnership inquiries.

What will you do?

  • Assist in the development and execution of LCS strategic marketing program deliverables, based on defined strategic marketing plans

  • Focused lead generation activities through innovative multi-channel marketing tactic development and execution [i.e., web, email, social media, video, events, webinars] that bring qualified inquiries to our the LCS business development managers [BDMs]

  • Jointly develop Marketing Automation Plans (MAPs) and other lead nurturing tactics with digital and content marketing team members

  • Leverage analytics to determine the effectiveness of marketing programs based on KPI and ROI marketing metrics. Regularly track and report on marketing program/project metrics, successes, failures, and findings

  • Closely collaborate with LCS segment leaders to “design in” LCS value proposition to the business unit global and regional market development managers’ content plans

  • Develop sales force and customer facing materials in support of lead generation and partnership marketing

  • Act as a brand ambassador, understanding, upholding, and communicating our brand strategy in all aspects of our marketing programs

  • May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned

Key Proficiencies:

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, marketing, business, communications or related discipline required

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years marketing experience with a proven track record of accomplishments (managing multiple projects, meeting deadlines, staying within budget)

  • Experience with marketing 4Ps, channels, segmentation preferred

  • Inside sales experience is a plus

  • Basic science background preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must be detail oriented, with the ability to identify and resolve problems

  • Strong business acumen, understanding of analytical metrics and customer focus are essential

  • Able to liaise well between commercial sales and marketing teams and offer insights into program effectiveness via dashboards and other reporting mechanisms

  • Demonstrated proficiency with computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or similar programs

  • Effective at building relationships; a collaborative approach

  • Demonstrated confidence in written, inter-personal and oral communication is essential

  • Proactive, independent, self-starter with the ability to work with a diverse and global team

  • This position requires clear communication, selling, presentation, and leadership skills when working with stakeholders, commercial teams, marketing operations team, and leadership teams

  • Minimal travel may be required (up to 10%)
