State Street Global Head, Digital Experience in Boston, Massachusetts

You will work with the SSGA Digital leadership team to set & execute on the digital roadmap to develop contextual, interactive digital experiences that provide unparalleled prospect and client engagement. You will lead a global team responsible for management and maintenance of all SPDR Digital (web & mobile) client touch-points that will provide significant and measureable impact to the global marketing organization. You will be a key member of the digital leadership team responsible for supporting digital transformation efforts and leading existing digital sites across the globe. You will have experience running global digital websites, mobile apps and leading agile centric, team of product owners, and working with design & dev teams in a global delivery model. Your success will require collaborating internally across the organization with executive management, marketing, product, creative/design, as well as externally with leading digital agencies that are driving the next generation of client engagement and experiences.


  • A consistent track record of successfully leading global teams of product owners, development teams and interfacing with internal & external design resources to build premier digital experiences in retail banking, financial services or asset management.

  • Proven experience of web & mobile development lifecycles and methodologies, including Agile Scrum as well as the technical aspects of the web and its capabilities.

  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills, including ability to build presentations to C-level key business partners.

  • Being a change agent for the change management process and energizes the team on an ongoing basis, taking steps to remove barriers or accelerate its pace;

  • Serving as role model for how to handle change by maintaining composure and high performance level when experiencing challenges.

  • Past budget responsibility for a business, including delivery against revenue targets and operating budgets.

  • Dedication and desire to identify challenges passionately turn issues into actionable plans

  • Experience and expertise in intuitive, empathic design principles and serving as the primary interface point between design, technical, marketing & business leadership.


  • 10+ years experience in the digital space, with a focus on digital experience product development and building digital wealth or asset management experiences. In addition, experience in SEO, content distribution, social, mobile technologies, development of high quality, customer centric digital design and user experience, and digital marketing.

  • 5+ years of experience leading and motivating teams, including partnering across areas without direct supervisory lines.

  • Shown success leading large, multi-year international digital transformation programs and teams.

  • Experience running an integrated design & development teams in an agile, design-centric, customer-focused environment is essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly at the executive level to persuade, influence, and drive change

  • Ability to lead from the front, motivate teams to successfully deliver on global initiatives with demonstrated history mentoring teams through organization & process change initiatives.

  • Understanding of the finance/asset management marketplace, including regulatory and legislative landscape, preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably with a major in marketing, business, or communications; master’s degree preferred


  • This position is based in Boston. Some travel will be required.
