Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for the Global Communications Leader, JJDC & JLABS. This position has a preferred located of New Brunswick, NJ but consideration will be given to the New York and Boston area.

The Global Communications Leader shapes and drives strategic, enterprise communication plans for Johnson & Johnson’s equity investment arm, JJDC, and its global incubator network, JLABS. This position will advance the overall reputation of Johnson & Johnson as an Innovation leader and partner of choice for early-stage healthcare innovators, to fuel and strengthen our sector pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic planning and execution of communications for JJDC and JLABS ensuring alignment to the J&J Masterbrand and overall J&J Innovation Narrative and enhancing opportunities to strengthen the overall reputation of J&J as a Health Innovator and partner of choice for strategic partners in our sourcing areas of focus.

  • Ensure positive share of voice around JLABS and JJDC (news and deals) in areas J&J wants to be known for: highlighting our sourcing areas of focus and the value of external collaborations to J&J and to patients.

  • Shape, prioritize and implement media outreach and strategic speaking engagements that will advance the reputation of J&J as a partner of choice in sourcing areas of interest and differentiate JLABS and JJDC offerings in the marketplace.

  • Partner closely with enterprise teams (Media Relations, Investor Relations, Office of the Corporate Secretary), the Regional Innovation Communication Leaders and Global JJI Sourcing & Activation teams to implement a coordinated and integrated communications approach across J&J globally, regionally and locally.

  • Represent External Innovation in relevant GCA project teams.

  • Contribute to overall internal engagement strategy for JJI and for J&J employees on External Innovation efforts.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • Minimum 10 years relevant work experience in communications, journalism or related field

  • Enterprise and global mentality: familiarity with at least one J&J sector and corporate organization preferred

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing global business strategic communications plans and executive communication strategies in support of a total corporate positioning program

  • Strong executive presence with exceptional written, presentation and interpersonal skills.

  • Media and stakeholder relations skills (experience with media and government preferred)

  • Understanding of the healthcare sector (experience in the early innovation space preferred)

  • Experience leading a budget and external vendors/contractors.

  • Familiarity with social media (especially LinkedIn) and AI tools and approaches

  • Business and scientific competence – ability to translate scientific concepts into clear and effective messaging for diverse audiences

  • Ability to navigate and self-organize/re-prioritize work towards deadlines and priorities through ambiguous situations

  • Proven experience leading and delivering during periods of organizational change and in a fast-paced environment

  • Collaborative and comfortable driving results through influence

  • Energetic, dynamic, enthusiastic, committed, self-starter

  • Accountable, compliant and focused on performing with quality and precision

Preferred:

  • Experience and understanding of the financial/investments sector

  • 5 years’ of years of experience managing agencies/vendors and associated budgets

  • Internal and organizational communications experience

Salary:

The compensation and benefits information set forth in this posting applies to candidates hired in the United States. Candidates hired outside the United States will be eligible for compensation and benefits in accordance with their local market.

The base pay range for this position is $137,000 - $235,750.

Bonus:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.

  • Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation – up to 120 hours per calendar year

  • Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington – up to 56 hours per calendar year

  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays – up to 13 days per calendar year

  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
