Spindrift FP&A Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

The FP&A Manager will provide overall analytic support and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of Spindrift’s reporting models as well as advising on opportunities to improve the financial position of the business units. The candidate will participate in the creation of the monthly financial review, quarterly reports to investors and Board members, and Board material creation. Additionally, they will be tasked with day-to-day oversight of the Business Intelligence system and interacting with the ERP system. The FP&A Manager must be comfortable with and excited about problem-solving, creating more efficient systems, and willing to work in a highly collaborative and autonomous environment. The FP&A Manager will have the potential to significantly influence the profitability of our business and will also be able to make substantial improvements to our processes.

Specific responsibilities include:

Analysis

  • Take a key role in the development of Spindrift’s annual financial plan and interim financial forecasts

  • Assist with building financial models for budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning related to strategic initiatives including new product development and launches

  • Work with Spindrift’s Accounting team to ensure consistency in reporting

  • Consolidate, reconcile, validate and obtain clarification of financial information from multiple sources

  • Assist in the monthly reporting package creation, design, and execution of each business entity

  • Conduct/Develop multi-dimensional financial modeling to support sales and profitability forecasting

  • Proactively approach business leaders with fact-based analyses and recommendations for improving profitability, through cost containment or process efficiency

Essential Functions

  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks

  • Proactively communicate key learnings from data analysis and actions with internal stakeholders

  • Update and enhance analysis summaries on a cadenced basis for FP&A Director

  • Streamline and automate current analyses while simultaneously leveraging new ERP capabilities not already in place

  • Develop strong partnerships with business managers across each functional area of the business - primarily Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service

  • Responsibilities will fluctuate between regular, planned activities (60%) and ad hoc analysis (40%)

  • Assist in mentoring junior staff

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work in an open floor plan office in Newton, MA four days a week

  • Potential domestic travel less than 5%

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred

  • Minimum of 3-5 years progressive business experience with FP&A and/or analytical experience required; CPG experience preferred

  • Prior experience in positions requiring strong analytical acumen coupled with written and verbal communication to senior level executives

  • Extensive experience working with and understanding ERP systems; NetSuite preferred

  • Previous experience working with and detailed administration of a Business Intelligence platform (Domo, Tableau)

  • Comfort working in situations with ambiguity and/or with fluid parameters

  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive

  • Extremely organized with strong time-management skills
