Amazon Executive Communications Manager, AWS Global Field and Partner Marketing in Boston, Massachusetts

We are seeking an experienced Executive Communications Manager to join the AWS Global Field and Partner Marketing (GFPM) team and work closely with GFPM’s most senior leaders to scale GFPM messages to our Customers, Partners and Employees. The Executive Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive communications plan to enhance and promote GFPM’s vision and strategic goals to our internal and external audiences globally.

GFPM is seeking an experienced, self-motivated, and creative communications professional to manage employee-facing communications globally for the Vice President of the organization. This role will be responsible for all internal communications within GFPM, and alignment to the AWS Marketing Communications team, to help effectively engage with employees around the globe, located in physical, virtual, and partner sites. The chosen candidate will design communications strategies that consider both proactive and reactive tactics. They will identify high-value engagements that provide the optimal platform to reach our audiences and develop compelling, data-rich content to inform and inspire them. They will maintain balance proactive guidance and strategy with flawless delivery to become a trusted partner to the GFPM leadership team. They must have a strong track record of delivering results by producing high-quality, clear content, a demonstrated ability to earn and maintain trust across stakeholders, and insist on highest standards for quality, attention to detail while working on multiple projects simultaneously. The chosen candidate must be curious about new programs, channels, and initiatives impacting our customers, partners, and employees and possess the ability to ask the right questions. They need to have a bias for action and balance driving vs being directed. They must be comfortable taking risks and raising the bar for new ways of doing things. The role would suit a tenacious, detail-orientated person with a passion for storytelling, comfort to lead through ambiguity and agility to navigate a large-scale, complex business.

Key job responsibilities

• This role is responsible for developing, organizing and executing strategic communications programs for GFPM's leadership

• Work directly with GFPM’s leadership and serve as an integral partner to the AWS Marketing Communications team to align across teams

• Prepare executives for internal and external speaking engagements to include the creation of content for all-hands meetings; internal communications via email or other channels; video script writing; and social media strategy, content creation and execution.

• Serve as writer to executives for global audiences, including driving the creation and delivery of compelling materials (slides, scripts, messaging documents)

• Leverage thought leadership programs and opportunities for GFPM leadership, to promote the business value in partnership with the AWS Marketing Communication’s team

• Apply superb organizational skills to the management of high-level communications opportunities

• Develop and manage speaking engagement calendar with other AWS Communications Team members to ensure alignment of key messages both

• Measure and share results of speaking engagement to evaluate impact

• Conduct research and monitor industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for enhancing executive communications.

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills to work effectively with executives and stakeholders at all levels.

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • 7+ years of developing and managing acquisition marketing or channel programs experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience developing and executing campaigns across a multitude of timezones and languages

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience driving direction and alignment with large cross-functional teams and agency partners

  • Experience designing and executing joint marketing plans with strategic alliance partners with global footprint

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $94,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
