Job Description
Ensure full compliance with OSHA regulations, internal safety policies, and environmental standards across solar construction and operational sites.
Develop, implement, and supervise the site-specific Health and Safety Plan (HASP), ensuring the plan addresses all necessary safety protocols and requirements for site operations.
Conduct routine safety audits, risk assessments, and SWPPP inspections, developing mitigation plans to address findings.
Conduct safety training and orientations for employees and site personnel, ensuring understanding of safety requirements.
Maintain safety records, review site safety submittals, track EHS performance metrics, and generate detailed reports for management.
Promote a proactive safety culture by building strong partnerships with the project team and subcontractors.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and internal safety policies.

Conduct safety training and orientations for employees and site personnel.
Maintain safety records and track EHS performance metrics.
Generate detailed reports for management regarding safety performance.
Promote a proactive safety culture and build strong partnerships with the project team.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
Essential Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
OSHA 30-hour Construction certification.
2-3 years of direct experience in environmental health and safety.
Experience in conducting safety inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Strong understanding of OSHA General Industry and Construction standards.
Experience in leading safety on construction sites, including managing high-risk activities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skilled in hazard identification, risk assessment, and providing corrective actions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in solar construction or electrical safety.
Hands-on experience with high-risk activities such as crane lift operations, trenching and excavation, working at heights, and stormwater management.
Safety certifications (e.g., ASP, CSP) are highly desirable.
Ability to travel to multiple project sites as needed.
Strong problem-solving and team-building skills.
Work Environment
Ability to walk and navigate undeveloped construction sites, including rugged terrain.
Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions such as extreme heat, cold, and precipitation.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform site inspections for several hours at a time.
Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds for safety-related tasks.
Local travel to solar sites, with rare overnight stays (up to 30%).
Projects will be in the greater New England area.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
