The ed2go Course Development Assistant (CDA) works closely with Course Development Managers (CDMs) and Learning Designers (LDs) to support course development and the completion of special projects.

Task Areas

Subject Matter Expert Procurement and Training

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist with SME procurement, contacting sourcing agencies, posting job listings, or completing other recruitment activities

  • Gather and rate resumes using the rating rubric

  • Respond to potential candidates, gather supporting documentation, schedule interviews

  • Upload resumes to SharePoint

  • Set up SMEs as Cengage vendor

  • Assist the CDMs with other tasks related to SME onboarding, as needed

Course Development Workflow Support – Runway and Catalog Quality teams

Responsibilities include:

  • Create channels in Teams and Slack for individual projects and complete other tasks necessary to kick off a course project

  • Assist with the onboarding of SMEs, Vendors, and other external personnel

  • Work with ed2go Operations/Acquisitions team to ship materials to LD and SME

  • Help locate existing Cengage content to support content reuse and agility

  • Assist LD in creating and completing the IP grid, conducting research as needed

  • Proofing or copyediting course content, as needed

  • Identify proofer/copyeditor for project, setting up contract and compensation

  • Provide proofer/copyeditor necessary documents for individual projects

  • Archive completed course project documents

  • Identify proofer/copyeditor for project, setting up contract and compensation

  • Provide proofer/copyeditor necessary documents for individual projects

  • Archive completed course project documents

  • Support CDMs and LDs with other tasks related to course project management, as needed

Data Gathering and Reporting

  • Assist team with reporting tasks, including conducting special audits and other data gathering needs

  • Support the data compilation necessary for monthly/quarterly KPI reporting

Special Projects

  • Create and manage course documents related to credit articulation, working cross-functionally ensuring that documentation needs and deadlines are met

  • Assist team members and workgroups with ongoing ad hoc special projects, as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related discipline

  • Experience in educational setting, preferred

  • Experience with databases and database reporting

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Excellent communication skills, including strong writing skills

  • Experience copyediting or proofing, desired

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, change-centric environment
