Gilbane Econ Inclusion Coordinator in Boston, Massachusetts

The Economic Inclusion Coordinator supports implementation of initiatives to maximize participation of Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBEs) and diverse workers on Gilbane construction projects in the Boston region. This role supports the Economic Inclusion Manager/Director in all aspects of program management including but not limited to the below responsibilities.

  • Program management assistance: Helps administer various programs run by Gilbane, including Gilbane Rising Contractors and the Boston Economic Inclusion Task Force, which entails organizing classes/ meetings, tracking activity and results and following-up to ensure programs are well-run.

  • Implementation of new process and procedure: Helps increase adoption of new process and procedure outlined in the Economic Inclusion Playbook by becoming a subject matter expert on the material, ensuring project teams know what is expected of them and following up on outstanding items in a timely matter.

  • Outreach events: Organizes regular events with MWBE businesses – lunch and learns, workshops, talks, project information sessions, etc.

  • Project team support: Works closely with the Purchasing department and project team to connect MWBE firms to work on Gilbane projects and works closely with internal staff to ensure projects are on track to meet goals.

  • Data collection and analysis: Utilizes various systems including Microsoft Excel to track and monitor participation by MWBEs and a diverse workforce on Gilbane projects. Assists with drafting reports for internal and external distribution.

  • Relationship management: Maintains positive relationships with MWBE contractors; may include walking contractors through why they may not qualify for a particular scope/scale of work, offering unsuccessful bidders access to constructive feedback, etc.

  • Marketing: Assists with the creation of proposals, written marketing pieces and other media to promote the program.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree

  • Intermediate-level experience with Microsoft Excel

  • 3-5 years of professional experience

  • Some experience with contractors and construction preferred but not required

  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.

For Boston this ranges from $59,360.00-$81,620.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
