Museum of Science Donor Events Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts

Under the Direction of the Associate Director, Advancement Events, the Donor Events Specialist will assist in the implementation and execution of a strategic, relationship-drivel model of Advancement events. These activities serve as a focal point for stewarding existing donors, engagement of new and future donors, and securing annual income through a suite of external programming. Combined, these events and activities generate thousands of touchpoints between the Museum and the Greater New England Community that represents the impact the Museum has in the community. I This position will manage internal relationships with departments including Event Sales, Strategy and Operations (ESSO), Integrated Marketing & Communications, Prospect Research & Data Analysis, Adult Programs, etc. They will inform internal stakeholders of strategic opportunities for donor engagement through data analysis, and research and participate in shaping the goals of each event, in order to support a cross-divisional master calendar of events. RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports 40-50 cultivation and stewardship events per year, serving up to 500 people per event Serves as the event lead on a small portfolio of 5-15 events as determined by the annual events calendar Supports the planning and execution of 5-10 Fundraising Events and Campaigns to help drive annual income through events to exceed $1 million annually Coordinate and manage RSVPs for all events, ranging from 10 participants to 500+ attendees, as well as all related data entry Manage the timeline for all event collateral with Integrated Marketing Communications and/or external vendors (3-6 pieces of collateral per event, up to a six-month timeline) Coordinate and develop invitation list (1-5 list pulls per event) and post event data entry with Prospect Research & Data Analysis team and frontline fundraising teams WORK SCHEDULE: This position is full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday-Friday. This role also must be able to maintain a flexible schedule with night work often (and infrequent weekend work), especially in spring and fall. REPORTS TO: Associate Director, Advancement Events MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. 2 or more years of fundraising and/or cultivation & stewardship event coordination experience. Demonstrated fundraising/donor event planning experience Proven organizational, time-management, and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail Demonstrated customer service skills Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and database operations, ability to easily learn new technology Ability to remain calm under pressure, to anticipate and support changes at an event, and problem solve in real time Oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information in a sensitive and mature manner STARTING SALARY: Non-Exempt (Hourly). $22.50-$24.50/hour
