Decipher Biosciences District Sales Manager - Northeast in Boston, Massachusetts
The District Sales Manager (DSM) role is responsible for leading a team of Senior Genomic Specialists (SGS). DSM?s are tasked with helping the SGS?s develop and grow the Decipher testing business in a defined geography. This role will involve the creation and implementation of territory business plans as well as the selection, hiring, training, development, and management of Senior Genomic Specialists within a defined geographic region.
The successful candidate will be required to make the day to day decisions necessary to manage and grow the Decipher business functions with a team of Senior Genomic Specialists. This includes, but is not limited to: deploying resources, allocating costs, directing business activities, securing and analyzing relevant information, knowledge of district market intelligence, environmental factors and political landscape.
Successful District Sales Managers will work in close collaboration with Regional Sales Directors, Clinical Genomic Liaisons, Managed Care, Marketing, Customer Service, and Legal.
Ideal candidates will possess a depth of knowledge in the urology and radiation oncology market, and functional knowledge in the clinical/scientific aspects of prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment.
What you are great at doing:
Achievement of district sales objectives; revenue and expenses within a team of Senior Genomic Specialists.
Helping Senior Genomic Specialists to develop and execute territory business plans that align with the regional and national strategy sales.
Directing and execution of sales strategies and tactics.
Implementation of sales and marketing plans.
Managing district and territory sales budgets.
Maximizing sales pull-through opportunities that align with Decipher?s managed care strategy to achieve or exceed national goals.
Evaluating the performance of Senior Genomic Specialists. Evaluations should be on going through regular field contact visits and mid/end of year reviews.
Maintaining a high level of product and market knowledge.
Participating and assisting in company programs designed to promote or facilitate Decipher sales and the company culture.
Working collaboratively with cross-functional partners to access resources and maximize outcomes.
Develop and maintaining key customer relationships with target audiences.
Plan and conducting district sales meetings/calls.
Inform and convey existing and new product knowledge and applications that enhance and develop sales and business skills.
Utilize sales tracking tools to effectively monitor incoming orders and commercial reimbursement
Provide regular and accurate sales forecast updates for all reporting Senior Genomic Specialists.
Comply with all Federal and State laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Decipher activities
What you need to be successful:
Bachelor?s degree (Science/Marketing preferred; MS/MBA or higher a plus).
Strong technical background in molecular biology, genomics, urology preferred.
Strong Leadership skills and the ability to demonstrate character and integrity.
5+ years of successful sales and sales management experience in molecular diagnostics, urology, oncology, biotech, life science or diagnostic sales
What you will bring to the team:
Cross functional experience in Sales Management, Sales Training, Marketing, etc. is a plus
Strong attention to detail and managing projects with minimal direct supervision
Well-developed professional and strategic selling skills with a proven ability to assist fellow team members.
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, with the goals of bringing the appropriate resources to a specific customer need
Excellent listening, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated interpersonal skills; effective matrix communication and leadership skills
Experience with effective utilization of salesforce.com or similar CRM database a plus
Excited about an early stage company environment that may require greater self-sufficiency
Experience leading a team of sales representatives within a multi-state region and the ability to travel 50% of the time is a must.
