Job Role and Responsibilities

This position will report to the Sr. Director of Strategy & Planning for WW Networking & Security. The role will span across all geographies + customer segments and will work in partnership with regional sales, business units, and other functional partners organizations. This Director level role is strategic within VMware – one which will develop over time, based on the current/future needs of the evolving Networking and Security business model. The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of business insight, sales operations experience, VMware Solutions knowledge, understanding of ML algorithms and their practical application, big-picture thinking, influencing skills and ability to collaborate with many constituents within VMware.

  • Responsible for helping develop and deliver organizational priorities across the Networking and Security sales organization

  • Key advisor on organizational strategy and lead select strategic projects

  • Collaborate with GEOs, COEs, and BUs to ensure alignment to the Networking and Security GTM strategy

  • Collect and distribute action items from key executive meetings

  • Scorecard and Metrics (in partnership with Networking and Security functional groups)

  • Manage a process between Networking and Security sales and the Networking and Security VMW business units

  • Follow through on actions from key executive meetings

  • Collaborate with COEs in select acquisition integrations to align GTM strategy

Required Skills

  • Work experience in a technology company or related space

  • Understanding of software business models (e.g. license, subscription, SaaS) and go-to-market strategies

  • Ability to set and lead multiple priorities

  • Experience in for bringing in 3rd party applications to augment/supplement existing GTM/Sales Acceleration

  • Demonstrated aptitude in working with Data Scientist/Advanced Analytics teams and co-creating solutions to be used by sales/marketing

  • Capacity to discern differing priorities between the business unit and sales organization and identifying a path forward that is mutually beneficial

  • Proven competency is top-of-funnel pipeline acceleration programs and platforms

  • Understanding of ML-based algorithms, ability to oversee the development of future algorithms, and the practical implementation of them at the field level and programmatically

  • Track record of consistently delivering excellent results in trying and changing environments

  • Ability to work effectively across teams and groups to bring together diverse views in order to establish and accomplish goals and initiatives

  • Ability to identify patterns, process information quickly, and make decisions in a timely manner – analytical mindset

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Preferred Skills

  • Leadership ability with broad multidisciplinary technical background

  • Management Consulting experience

  • An extraordinarily self-motived and directed professional that has an eye for business

  • Direct Software/SaaS sales experience

  • Experience working for or with a Channel/VAR partner
