The Role

Directors are responsible for the overall management and direction of a particular function or set of technology, including employee performance and development. Practice Areas may be added, modified, or deleted according to the practice direction in various process / functional areas of SAP Product Suite and the amount of business generated for a particular area within Lumen’s Technology Solutions and Services group.

The Director reports to the Sr. Director – SAP Enterprise Solutions.

Reporting to the Director are the following positions:

  1. Principle Architect / Consultant (primarily manages people and solution delivery, solution enhancements, and IP creation by Practice or sub-Practice)

  2. Senior Consultant (manages project teams and solution delivery by project)

  3. Consultants and Jr. Consultants (creates and delivers solutions)

The Main Responsibilities

  • Create a strategic roadmap and lead the adoption and value generation through –

  • Design and Architecture,

  • Build and Maintain

  • Migrate and Manage of Cloud environments, and

  • Related technology products and services.

  • Lead SAP consulting practice area team(s) across different functional areas in the Retail industry space

  • Deliver business-specific value propositions to our internal and external customers

  • Identify and create product/services offerings using SAP Product Suite for SAP Retail

  • Manage development of new products/services

  • Manage IP creation, protection and supporting collateral

  • Contribute to RFP responses

  • Continually improve current product/service offerings

  • Conduct demos & workshops for clients

  • Manage solution relationship with key partners

  • Establish and maintain strong ties with SAP, related to the practice area, to understand SAP’s strategic direction, new offerings and business development focus.

  • Form strategic partnerships with internal and external customers, and vendors.

  • Provide pre-sales support

Additional Responsibilities

  • Recruit, Retain and Re-train technology professionals in roles related to all the process / functional areas across the areas of responsibility

  • Build and manage a high performing consulting services team, hiring the right talent with skills to achieve objectives, setting clear goals and expectations, and providing ongoing coaching and development to expand skills and capabilities. Lead a high performing team with mix of internal and external resources. Some of the responsibilities include, but not limited to -

  • Resource budgeting and planning

  • Resource allocation

  • Mentoring/Coaching

  • Hiring

  • Conduct performance assessment

  • Guide employee career development

  • Ensure technical development, project engagement standards and administrative practices are followed

  • Help develop and cascade company communications to all employees

  • Off-shore resource management and coordination to achieve solution results

  • And all other tasks/duties as assigned

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Applied knowledge of majority of practice components such as SAP Retail, PosDM, SAP CAR, etc.

  • Minimum 10 years of extensive hands-on experience in one of the SAP functional areas such as –

  • Retail (mandatory) and any one of the remaining functional areas such as

  • Finance (desirable)

  • Procurement (desirable)

  • Sales (desirable)

  • Manufacturing, etc. (desirable)

  • Knowledge and experience in the latest versions of S/4 is highly desirable but not mandatory for the right candidate

  • Hands on experience and knowledge of any of the Analytics solutions is a plus.

  • Past experience in leading functional transformation consulting across finance, manufacturing, retail, supply chain, HR and other functions across a global organization is a plus

  • Proven people management experience

  • Demonstrated business acumen in practice areas

  • Able to work in highly dynamic and flexible environment

  • Positive people and client management skills

  • Able to travel

This position is eligible for either short-term incentives or sales compensation. Director and VP positions also are eligible for long-term incentive.
