SOPHiA GENETICS Director, Public Relations, Brand, & Social in Boston, Massachusetts

We are looking for a Public Relations (PR), Brand, and Social Media Director to design and implement external-facing public relations and communications strategies that cultivate our relationships with media, engage our target audience, drive our social media experience, and boost our brand awareness.

You will use your leadership and creative ideas to drive PR, media relations, social media, and blogging initiatives that will bring brand awareness, customer engagement, and ultimately long-term success to SOPHiA GENETICS. Also, you’ll coordinate extensively with internal teams (e.g., Marketing and Communications, Sales, Finance, CEO) to maximize public-facing brand consistency in all communications efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, strategic PR and media relations plan for the company

  • Set objectives for the team and monitor team members’ performance

  • Maximize brand presence on various communication channels

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with media and influential professionals

  • Arrange interviews and press releases to promote our company and its products/services

  • Develop a comprehensive brand narrative and ensure brand consistency in all communications efforts

  • Organize PR and media events to increase awareness of our company

  • Track and influence media coverage in appropriate industry and financial/business venues

  • Manage sensitive issues to maintain company’s good reputation

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, strategic Social Media and blogging plan for the company and oversee the creation of a dynamic social media and blog content calendar

  • Assist in the writing of social media and blog posts

  • Monitor efficacy of PR, media relations, branding, social media, and blogging programs to ensure efficacy and improve engagement over time.

Requirements

  • Solid experience coordinating PR, media relations, social media, branding, and blogging campaigns

  • Expertise in different social networks, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the confidence to serve as the company’s spokesperson

  • Exceptional writing and creative abilities, along with strong team management skills

  • Digital marketing experience, including UTM code usage, Google Analytics metrics tracking, and an awareness of the latest social media trends a significant plus

  • Ability to foster long-term relationships with key professionals

  • BSc in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or relevant field

  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Team player with excellent time-management, interpersonal, and communication skills
