This role will be responsible for providing open innovation/strategic partnership expertise and maximizing strategic value and performance of a wide variety of Open Innovation agreements (strategic partnerships, collaborations/agreements, licensing, etc.). This is a highly visible position that will engage with internal and external leaders and experts at all levels to deliver results that help us achieve our ambitious strategic goals and to enhance our company’s relationships to secure the company’s reputation as a leader and preferred partner across our industry.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Drive cross-functional strategic partnership and open innovation initiatives with external partners and across the broader Danaher community that improve IDT’s capabilities, market, product and geographic presence and drive further momentum across commercial teams, R&D, innovation, and portfolio strategy beyond the specific agreement.

  • Serve as key thought partner with business/business unit leaders to drive creative and innovative solutions and partnership agreements/approaches with a variety of external partners based on analysis of market, technology, and competitive dynamics using both qualitative and quantitative approaches and voice of customer/primary research to support decision making and initiative creation.

  • Develop standard work/flow for identifying, screening, negotiating, and managing a robust OI pipeline and partner program and lead evaluation of inbound OI opportunities to formulate, communicate and manage IDT’s response.

  • Foster a large network of deep relationships with crucial industry players and represent IDT at a wide variety of industry conferences, events, and engagements to enhance IDT's robust Open Innovation opportunity pipeline.

  • Deeply understand IDT’s strategy and future vision across the business unit and functional teams within IDT and across the broader Danaher network to identify and execute innovative partnership agreements to progress execution of our strategy.

  • Understand and effectively engage with a wide range of functional areas including Legal, IP, Finance, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Sales & Marketing, Program Management, and Alliance Management in order to develop and maintain effective partnerships and involve relevant key partners.

  • Serve as key single point of contact, working closely with internal team members and senior leaders, and OI counterparts to manage and advance joint goals and deliverables, contract issues, and overall health and success of the collaboration.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with 14+ years of experience OR Master's degree in field with 12+ years experience OR Doctoral degree in field with 9+ years experience

  • Experience in corporate strategy, business development, alliance management/strategic partnerships, strategic marketing roles and/or management consulting.

  • Extensive experience and proven ability to negotiate and influence others to adopt a different point of view, including deal/partnership design, negotiation and on-going management.

  • Extensive experience with communication, in-depth analytical/modeling and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate difficult concepts to stakeholders.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Experience in medical technologies, life sciences, or biopharma markets, specifically in genetics or genomics products and markets.

The salary range for this role is $175,000-$200,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
