Plymouth Rock Home Assurance is seeking a seasoned and motivated Director of Strategic Partnerships to join our rapidly growing Home insurance business. The Director of Strategic Partnerships develops and maintains high volume partnerships with distribution, brand, and marketing partners to grow the company’s home insurance business. “Partners” include large traditional insurance carriers, large Property and Casualty distributors, and non-traditional alternative distribution partners.
This highly visible role is tasked with all aspects of new partner business development in addition to driving long-term profitable growth of our existing partner business, including management oversight of day-to-day partner interactions. As a senior leader on the Home marketing team reporting to the Chief Sales and Marketing Officer, this position will lead the team focused on building and executing a strategy that drives significant profitable growth for a rapid-growing distribution channel and critically important business within the enterprise.
Serve as the business development leader for Home insurance distribution through partners, responsible for developing and securing partnerships, including pipeline development and all aspects of the sales cycle, inclusive of negotiating contract terms and, in partnership with Finance, deal economics to achieve financial objectives
Drive strong relationships with existing partners and coach relationship manager team to identify innovative organic new business opportunities to drive profitable growth, utilizing existing sales tools, while innovating new approaches for partner growth
Coordinate and collaborate with IT, Product, Service and other key stakeholders across the Plymouth Rock enterprise and with Partners to confirm strategic alignment and to develop the partnership structure and optimize offering
Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities to improve partner profitability and growth through active partner management
Operate as a member of the senior marketing management team; provide guidance and direction on marketing initiatives and serve as a mentor to other team members
Experience and Requirements
8+ years of successful track record in sales, marketing or relationship management leadership roles; knowledge of home insurance services, products and/or distribution models and marketing techniques is a plus.
Analytical abilities; experience interpreting data to generate insights that inform decisions and strategy; experience in developing and reporting on metrics and KPIs
Confident in taking ownership of challenging business issues, making decisions with limited or incomplete data and seeing issues through to resolution; excellent project management and problem-solving skills
Confidence in building a rapport with and nurturing good working relationships; strong collaborator who can build relationships in a matrix environment; ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, and external partners
Driven by results and works well under pressure and with urgency
Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation, proposal development, persuasion, negotiating and relationship management; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse technical and non-technical audiences
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing start-up like environment
Must be able to accommodate a minimum of 30% travel
