Microsoft Corporation Director of Sales Strategy and Operations in Boston, Massachusetts

The Scale-managed Partner Sales team (SMPS) is focused on accelerating Microsoft’s scale managed partners growth across all segments from Enterprise through the SMB segment. To drive this growth, Microsoft works in a scale able fashion with partners of all types and sizes to drive revenue, usage and share while ensuring these partners are deeply connected into sales motions and engines.
The Director of the Sales Strategy and Operations team within SMPS will lead development of the strategy, align investments, create globally scalable programs and operational rigor with our partners that help our channel ecosystem delivery the right solutions to customers at scale.
The team has three primary functions:
Corp Strategy and Thought Leadership: Define and communicate our strategy while identifying trends and integrating those to achieve our growth and revenue objectives.
Drive execution through various sales engines: Translating strategy into reality across Azure, Modern Work, Business Applications through our indirect providers, investments, digital sales teams and our digital sales execution teams.
Deliver performance and insights of the scale managed business: Drive performance through analytics, insights and ROBs with our field sales teams, corporate sales teams and our partners.
You will play a key role in continuing to transform one of the world’s largest partner ecosystems. You will be a leader in the team and directly engage with the senior leaders of the company.
Lead, coach, and hire team members of the strategy team
Work with experts and stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Product Teams, Sales, Finance, Corp Dev, Marketing, Biz Dev) as well as externally (e.g., Industry Analysts, Partners, Customers)
Build consensus and effectively influence senior-level stakeholders

- Drives a positive, cohesive team culture across sales, operations, and Strategy team; develops junior team members and peers. Mentor junior colleagues by providing coaching and apprenticeship; solicits feedback from internal partners and provides feedback to team members. Owns recruiting and onboarding efforts for Strategy team members by conducting interviews, making decisions on candidates, overseeing onboarding, supporting team member career transitions.
- Manages multiple strategy projects and teams across organizational boundaries driving through goals, deliverables, feedback, resource balancing, and timing expectations; proactively identifies complex roadblocks and address them.
Business Partner Relationships
- Manages key points of contact with internal teams (e.g., Finance, Marketing, GPS); manages and cultivates relationships with senior internal leaders. Acts as an advisor to senior leadership as a domain expert within Microsoft, leveraging deep business knowledge, market awareness, and subject matter expertise to inform strategic business decisions.
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, or related field AND 8+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field AND 6+ years marketing, strategy, business planning, consulting, banking, finance, economics, and/or partner organization experience OR equivalent experience (e.g., scaling a business, incubation, driving change in a large company, entrepreneurship, management consulting).
2+ years people management experience.

Experience with executive digital sales strategy

Ability to effectively influence others, including multiple Microsoft groups and Partners
