Acxiom LLC Director of Products in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Summary: Be a part of a dynamic, fun, hard-working, experienced, smart Product & Engineering team. Lead a team of creative, bright, capable product managers and user-experience designers to be focused, business value oriented, efficient, and effective. Manage a variety of legacy and cutting-edge new product components which are used to build packaged solutions that meet the complex and expanding marketing needs of direct enterprise clients.

You will work closely with engineering and solution managers and client-facing teams to conceptualize, define direction, establish roadmaps, and drive development to execute on the plans for these products.

You could be a Product Manager who wants to deepen your understanding of the complex marketing ecosystem, integrations, and strategic technology partnerships, or an architect who wants to focus on the business needs and requirements of clients and translate those needs into effective products.

What you and your team will do:

The essential intent of this team is to build/enhance products to achieve new revenue growth and improve margin through Acxiom standard solutions created from these products. This position will lead the team in the following responsibilities.

  • Drive product vision

  • Manage products through their life cycle including through sunset

  • Solutions

  • Work with solutions and stakeholders to understand business need and validate requirements

  • Understand the end-to-end solutions and how the product(s) should be integrated to solve business problems

  • Work closely with solution product managers and understand the solutions and business drivers being packaged and sold and map business goals to product

  • Engineering/Development

  • Work collaboratively with engineering to challenge assumptions, validate specs and deliver Establish development plans with timelines based on engineering capacity and stakeholder priorities

  • Gain a deep understanding of the technology to better relate to engineering points of view, understand when to push back, and assess impact of requests

  • Communicate status and progress on development commitments

  • Write Product Requirements documents

  • Lead agile sprint activities, including grooming and planning sessions, that state clear business goals and/or use Kanban techniques or a hybrid approach

  • Write detailed epics and stories with clear acceptance criteria

  • Product management

  • Clearly define the capabilities and features of the product

  • Set priorities and make tough decisions when there more requests than capacity of resources

  • Prioritize product backlog

  • Own the processes to plan, prioritize, track and communicate enhancements to the products

  • Maintain awareness of competitors who are solving similar problems

  • Understand emerging technologies and how they may apply to product direction

  • Define and track success metrics for the products

  • Define maintainable, stable, useful, cost efficient products

  • Work closely with security, privacy and legal to ensure product compliance is addressed from requirements through build and that those aspects are so strong that they are differentiators in the market

  • Measure and track product performance and speed

  • Sales / Client / Delivery users

  • Understand the architecture of the products and act as the advocate

  • Products SME to assist in definition or review of solutions during the sales process

  • Stay in touch with clients and client teams for feedback and input and to share plans and roadmaps for products

  • Work closely with implementation teams and client delivery teams for feedback and input and communication of new function

  • Equip and organize to drive adoption of new capabilities

  • Integrations

  • Define and drive closer integrations with other Acxiom products in D&I, Analytics, and Global

  • Define and drive integrations with partner applications

What you will need:

Hard Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or solutions management or solutions architecture

  • Experience in team leadership and development

  • Domain expertise in marketing or advertising technologies or services and/or other information-intensive product businesses

  • Experience with MarTech data (consumer, response, application metadata, by industry, by channel, etc.)

  • Experience with AdTech data (exposure, website, search, by channel, etc.)

  • Familiar with Agile methodology and Kanban methodology coupled with Jira or similar issue tracking software

  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience

Soft Skills:

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication & consensus building skills

  • Collaborative, team building attitude

  • Strong Ability to negotiate (priorities, client requirements, contracts, different personality types, challenging interests, differing technology opinions)

What will set you apart?

  • Knowledge of Acxiom products

  • Expertise with cloud application management, deployment, development - AWS, GPC, Azure

  • Expertise in digital marketing solutions such as CDPs, DMPs, DSPs, Web personalization solutions, Mobile Marketing solutions

  • Knowledge in marketing cloud platforms from companies such Adobe, Oracle, Salesforce, IBM, etc.

  • Expertise in UI/UX web application development or product management

  • Knowledge of marketing analytics or measurement

  • Experience with products that are part of solutions

  • Level of education

  • Quickly assess a situation, make decisions based on limited information or disparate information, and be responsible for the outcome

  • Resourcefulness

  • Natural curiosity for learning new things
