Role Summary:

The Director of Product Management is responsible for guiding the success of a product and leading the cross-functional team that is responsible for improving it.It is an important organizational role that sets the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for Avitas’ platform-oriented product lines.

Essential Responsibilities:

The platform-solution must drive substantive benefits to customers using traditional inspection methods, engineering services, surveillance and surveying across a variety of verticals and use cases. The position includes understanding market landscape, customer needs, and market forecasting.

The technology will involve fusing data gathered via native systems with UAV-based sensor data, performing high-end risk analytics and video analytics leveraging subject matter expertise and AI algorithms, and displaying the results in a manner that leads to actionable insights for the customer. Several of the data streams are UAV-based sensors, thus experience with sensors, photogrammetry, and/or robotics is a plus.

In the role of Director of Product Manager, you will:

  • Strategy: Lead the definition of requirements, go-to-market strategy, and vision for the Platform products and services

  • Research: Develop a deep understanding of market problems and drivers for products and services through market research, productive relationships with customers, and internal sources of market knowledge and expertise

  • Prioritization: Own the prioritization of product features by gathering requirements from cross-functional teams, market demands, and strategic direction; work closely with VP of Operations, GE Business Unit SMEs, customers, and the VP of Engineering, to identify key product and/or solution gaps within current platforms and solutions

  • Releases: define the release process and coordinate all of the activities required to bring the product to market. This involves bridging gaps between different functions within the company and aligning all of the teams involved — namely delivery, marketing, sales, and customer support

  • Product Owner Role: Work closely with the VP Engineering and several engineering teams, as the Agile Product Owner, by conveying vision, scoping work, prioritizing issues, and speaking on behalf of customers

  • Cross-functional: Work with Operations and Delivery, Sales, Engineering, and Marketing teams to develop successful go-to-market programs that enable sales to effectively position our products and solutions

  • Communicate: Regularly communicate and inspire internal teams with a concise vision and roadmap for product features and services Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, engineering or technology from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in product marketing, product management and/or product planning

  • Minimum 5 years experience in delivering SaaS market solutions, portal systems and cloud applicationsEligibility Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in marketing, engineering or technology from an accredited college or university

  • Strong IT skills, experience with Microsoft Office, ability to develop professional documents and presentations as necessary

  • Experience in a startup setting is a plus

  • Strong communication skills in all forms including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentation

  • Experience in industrial inspection, data analytics or monitoring management software.

  • Technical background in video security, data base systems, API restful services, IoT, as well as capability to keep up new technology and trends

  • Hands on, collaborative and resourceful leader who will be comfortable navigating a large organization with broadly dispersed resources
