Description

As a key member of the NA Marketing Leadership Team, the Director of Retail Marketing will drive the development and execution of our retail marketing strategy across the full NA marketplace – wholesale and direct-to-consumer. This role requires an experienced marketer who is an incredible leader of people and a strong cross-functional partner. This person is consumer obsessed, and is passionate about driving breakthrough storytelling and experiences in an ever-changing retail environment. Successful candidates will know how to use data to inform decision-making, leveraging the science to inform the art of brand storytelling to ensure breakthrough with our consumer. The ideal candidate is a strong leader, but views themselves as true team player.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilitiesinclude:

  • Lead and inspire the NARetail Marketing team to be a high performing organization. Create an environment where individuals canlearn and develop, and empower them to drive the offense every day.

  • Build and execute the retailmarketing strategy across the full marketplace, enabling Converse to serveconsumers across our Wholesale, Digital and Converse Store businesses.

  • Deliver unique storytellingand experiences across the marketplace to create distinct, high-impact consumermoments for the Converse brand.

  • Partner closely with theCommercial Leadership Team to ensure alignment with commercial and accountstrategies.

  • Create distinctive account voicesacross the marketplace to segment and dimensionalize the Converse brand and driverelevant connection with consumers.

  • Obsess the consumer – createthe working space for team to regularly connect with consumers so we cancontinue to evolve how we serve them.

  • Drive flawless executionacross the marketplace – set an incredibly high standard and hold teamaccountable.

  • Drive efficiency – ruthlesslyeliminate what isn’t needed and double down on the process and work thatdelivers greatest returns.

  • Encourage a ‘test and learn’culture to drive new, creative thinking with a focus on measuring andunderstanding the impact of our investments.

  • Focus the entire RetailMarketing team on a clear set of priorities, and drive visibility of thosepriorities across the NA Brand team to ensure alignment and investment.

  • Manage total resourcesincluding full accountability for budget, as well as allocation and focus ofhuman resources, to ensure that we win in key areas.

  • Actively participate on theNA Marketing Leadership Team, incorporating the retail marketing strategy andteam into broader brand concepts and objectives.

  • Prioritize organizational planning,coaching and management to drive top performance from team. Focus on keymoments including annual reviews, but also stress everyday coaching forcontinual improvement.

  • RetailKnowledge: Minimum 10 years of retailmarketing or like experience to bring deep retail insights to inform the workand stay current on how retail is evolving to better serve consumers andcustomers.

  • Digital FoundationalSkills: Our consumer lives in africtionless world and we must understand how the conversation with consumersis changing so that we can make this a competitive advantage.

  • StrongPersonal Standards: We must execute flawlessly,everyday – the consumer demands it.

  • Communicationskills: Strong ability tocommunicate with people across all different levels, nationalities and cultureswithin and outside the Converse organization. Be able to present strategicallyto senior management teams. Ability to communicate and negotiate with outsidevendors and project management firms.

  • Collaboration: Establish and maintain relationships across the Conversecross-functional team – listening, understanding, and incorporating otherfunction’s perspectives to drive results.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel 30-50% of the time.
