This Director, National Business Strategy will be responsible for:
The strategic development and implementation of key initiatives for the newly formed National Business Unit of BCH, which is designed to cultivate and grow referrals and serve patient populations outside New England across physician, payer, employer and consumer channels by providing leadership in the decision-making, strategic analytics, business planning, financial and operational execution of Boston Children’s Hospital’s national strategy.
Leading analysis of national growth opportunities based upon the understanding of the Hospital’s strategic goals and review of health care trends with clinical leadership, marketing, finance, operations and digital teams to synthesize information across service/business lines.
Identifying and tracking major trends and developments that affect delivery of pediatric care nationally.
Conducting ongoing assessment of the Hospital’s market position through review and analysis of competitive and internal data, including qualitative and quantitative elements, to identify and prioritize high priority regions.
Evaluating and developing various strategies with respect to providers, payers, employers, and consumers to meet national goals and targets.
Effectively initiating and building relationships with national payers and potential partnerships with referring provider organizations.
Developing and customizing attractive relationship models for various external stakeholders through examination of structures within, and outside, of the healthcare industry.
Supporting leadership in prioritizing opportunities with a framework that promotes a rigorous review of risks and benefits and that enables clear decisions consistent with the organization’s objectives.
To qualify, you must have:
A Bachelor degree is required. Master’s Degree preferred and seven years of progressively responsible experience in a business/health care analytics, strategy consulting, business development or payer/provider organization or in a healthcare-related organization.
The ability to manage multiple demands and initiatives, including cross-functional project teams within assigned department/division and to influence and negotiate with peer level department heads and/or external agencies/payers on issues and programs that impact department, as well as larger Boston Children’s Hospital umbrella.
Excellent financial acumen including the ability to provide sound analysis.
The ability to understand and anticipate the impacts of the changing health care market environment.
High-level analytical capabilities, excellent quantitative skills, and attention to salient details.
Impeccable demonstrated communication abilities, both orally and in writing in a manner that is collegial and as needed, be empathetic in difficult situations.
Experience working with diverse internal and external constituencies.
