Penn Foster Director, Marketing Analytics in Boston, Massachusetts

Position Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and strategic Director to lead our Marketing Analytics team and to generate a significant impact on overall business growth. In this role, you will partner closely with the digital marketing and sales operating teams to drive superior performance through testing, optimizations, and innovation. The primary measures of success for the Marketing Analytics team are revenue and new customer acquisition growth, marketing efficiency (LTV/CAC or ROAS), and conversion rate increases throughout the funnel. Essential Job Functions:

  • Drive improvement in customer acquisition efficacy, efficiency and growth through analytics and partnerships with digital marketing and sales operating teams

  • Develop and manage a best-in-class analytics team

  • Build and maintain tools to monitor and manage performance and ROI of marketing campaigns and overall funnel

  • Identify, evaluate, and execute on strategies for performance improvement in core marketing channels including SEM, SEO, broadcast, affiliate, display, social, lead nurture emails and pricing

  • Oversee website analytics tracking and reporting and partner with site team to determine areas to maximize conversion

  • Design and perform A/B and multivariate testing and identify campaign optimizations

  • Develop and utilize attribution and other advanced models to find areas of opportunity across the funnel

  • Create and refine reporting, data capture and insight generation to meet the evolving needs of the business

  • Develop and implement segmentation and targeting methodologies and harness insights from customer research, consumer data, and surveys to improve customer acquisition

  • Play a pivotal role in the development of marketing strategy

  • Partner with marketing and sales leadership to establish the detailed performance goals and quarterly roadmap of projects that will deliver on them

  • Influence real-time campaign decisions and marketing budget allocation

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field

  • 7-10+ years of experience in analytics roles supporting highly-scaled digital marketing capabilities

  • Experience in managing and building successful teams that use data to drive strong business performance

  • High-energy, collaborative, creative, and strategic

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Proven ability to partner with executive management to drive strategy

  • A track record of results in owning and executing key initiatives that improve business performance

  • Analytical:

  • Ability to analyze large datasets with advanced technical methods, data science, statistical methodologies, modeling and tools

  • Experience in performance reporting and dashboard creation that incorporates data from disparate datasets (e.g., web analytics platforms + proprietary data warehouse)

  • A/B testing and optimizations

  • Marketing:

  • Deep understanding of marketing analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager)

  • Experience in analyzing business impact and ROI from marketing campaigns, media channels and mix allocation

  • Understanding of advanced attribution modeling to gain deep insights into funnel performance

  • Knowledge of standard economic frameworks for customer acquisition

  • Technical:

  • Excel and SQL are required

  • Python/R strongly preferred

  • Proficient in Tableau or other data visualization tools
