Job Description
The Director of HIV Marketing will be a key contributor to the Opinion Leader Programming (OLP) Team and the greater HIV BU. In this Field Based role, you will work across both HIV Treatment and Prevention/PrEP, contributing to the $13B HIV Franchise supporting Biktarvy and Descovy for PrEP.
You will drive strategy and develop an implementation plan for Key Opinion Leader development and engagement and key accounts. You will support advisory boards and may support other opinion leader activities as requested (conferences & speaker bureau). Your responsibilities will include budget oversight and management of agency partnerships. The Director will be expected to partner closely across the marketing team (Treatment & PrEP) and with various cross-functional stakeholders (especially Medical, Sales/Community/Field Teams, and P.A.) and external partners.
Essential Duties and Job Functions
Develop and implement a unified, strategic framework across Gilead for U.S. opinion leaders (OLs) and key accounts, from identification to prioritization, to management, and engagement
Lead cross-functional planning efforts for all O.L. and key account interactions to create an appropriately coordinated and tailored approach across internal teams
Support the creation, maintenance, and socialization of an opinion leader mapping database and activity tracker to ensure one repository for increased visibility and coordination
Evaluate the need for a field-based regional marketing team of thought leader liaisons
Participate in cross-functional engagement planning processes with other key internal stakeholders (i.e., advocacy groups, medical organizations, and community partners)
Identify and engage with emerging leaders, accounts, or potential partner organizations to advance Gilead's business objectives
May be called on to support other OLP and greater Franchise Team initiatives as needed and as bandwidth permits (i.e., advisory boards and conference debriefs)
Collaborates closely with HIV Treatment and Prevention teams to ensure broad communication of customer insights to inform marketing strategy and tactics
Actively monitors the HIV landscape and identifies areas of opportunity across the HIV
Cultivates relationships, manages, and provides direction and leadership across key agency partners to deliver on key strategic and tactical initiatives
Manages and supports promotional budget for assigned efforts
Supports the development and execution of the HIV OLP Marketing plan, supporting Opinion Leader strategies and tactics
Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and policies
Must be willing to travel extensively in the U.S. as dictated by business needs; customer/account facing time 70% and home office time 30%

Direct people management and experience managing highly cross-functional teams or workgroups are preferred
Track record of successful pharma/ biotech marketing in specialty categories
Clearly demonstrated understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory requirements and impact on developing marketing materials
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Twelve Years' Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Ten Years' Experience
OR
Ph.D. and Eight Years' Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Five years of brand development and marketing
MBA in marketing or related field
Proven track record of marketing fundamentals, including advisory boards, brand plan development, and execution of sales and commercial programs
HIV Therapeutic Area knowledge is strongly preferred
