Job Details

The Director, Financial Services (Insurance) on our Industry Advisors team is responsible for increasing Tableau’s awareness and position within the global Insurance industry and driving revenue through industry-expert customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate industry specific expertise through the facilitation of industry planning, engaging and collaboration processes, and drive success for all customers and internal/external stakeholders.

  • Participation with cross-functional teams to grow investment from Tableau’s top global insurance accounts and selected enterprise accounts within financial services.

  • Develop and execute a cadence with strategic customer executive relationships to drive customer alignment and investment.

  • Collaboratively define a focused business plan and go-to-market strategy in alignment with sales globally to further develop the financial services market for Tableau.

  • Create sales messaging to enable the global sales force to have consistent, effective and engaging sales conversations with prospects and customers across financial services industry sub-segments

  • Develop sales messaging playbooks for financial services to be used by enterprise and commercial sales teams.

  • Collaborate and create alignment with Salesforce GTM teams, Salesforce industry and marketing teams, Tableau marketing and partner teams, and joint sales teams to ensure consistent messaging, analytics thought leadership, and customer outcomes through the industry lens.

  • Create and participate with external thought leadership opportunities not limited to blogs, press, partner engagements, Tableau marketing events, webinars, and podcasts. Be a key industry influencer to industry analysts.

  • Build internal expertise of Tableau’s traction and penetration within the Insurance industry and understand the footprint for key analytics use cases.

  • Collaborate with other industry experts to scale expertise, participate in creating a methodology for success, and participate in cross-industry events.

  • Customize and tailor a suite of sales enablement tools that span the sales cycle enabling the sales team to drive higher levels of efficiency, effectiveness and overall professionalism within financial services.

  • The key areas include:

  • Sales guides and reference materials

  • Reference selling tools

  • Value selling tools

  • Competitive positioning tools

  • Use Case Development and Dissemination

Additional Responsibilities :

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Experience with enterprise analytics functions - Tableau preferred.

  • Customer service oriented in engaging and supporting the sales team.

  • Ability to engage and present in sales meetings, webinars, industry events, etc.

  • Ability to see the bigger picture and prioritize accordingly.

  • Motivated to learn and grow with a fast-growing company.

  • Strong PC or Mac computer skills; proficient with G-Suite and Slack.

  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks.

  • Detail oriented and deadline driven.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Dependable and able to work without significant supervision.

  • Ability to travel internationally as needed.


  • 10+ years of experience in sales or solution marketing of technology products into Enterprise Insurance companies.

  • BS/BA degree

For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $155,400. You may also be entitled to receive incentive compensation and benefits.
