The Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) Strategy and Operations team (S&O) drives the development and execution of our strategy and field operating model. This includes how the organization benefits customers and partners, enabling MCAPS to support them more effectively, efficiently, and with competitive differentiation. The team builds the connective tissue across MCAPS and MGB (Marketing & Gaming Business) to gain alignment and leverage existing capabilities, while empowering our people to be nimble, agile, successful, and thrilled to work for Microsoft.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity to join the newly created MCAPS Commercial Planning & Go-to-market (GTM) team within S&O. Our team leads Commercial planning, the planning priorities and execution, across MCAPS to enable an improved experience for our customers and field teams through coordinated improvements across revenue and investments, resource design, role success, GTM and landing. We also lead our GTM strategy, in partnership with MGB, and are accountable for our GTM experience and overall adoption.

About this role – Director Commercial Planning

You will lead our Commercial Planning across MCAPS to deliver against a common set of MCAPS priorities through execution of strategic operational engines across revenue and investments, resource design, role success, GTM and landing. You will work closely will all our planning leaders across MCAPS and MGB, as well as our solutions role owners and our field planning leaders to deliver against aggressive timelines and land a cohesive set of changes and experience for the field.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Commercial Go to Market Content and Programs Design end to end

  • Lead the landing for Commercial Go to Market content and programs – creating the strategy and creative approach

  • Lead and collaborate across key Content Lead stakeholders in the following orgs and not limited to: Cloud Marketing, Solution Areas, Industry Solutions, Cross Solution Areas, Customer Experience and Support, Global Partner Solutions, Microsoft Consulting, Strategy and Operations Process and tools, Go to Market Lead, Commercial Execution Playbook (CEP), Campaign Lead , M&O Field Operations to design and deliver effective and consistent bill of materials that will support the sales methodology and process, best practices for all solutions and industry content

  • Design and execute a simplified and agile process to review and validate the content/programs sales effectiveness and ability to accelerate the business in partnership with the key stakeholders for all impacted roles

  • Leverage listening mechanisms to analyze and understand field feedback related to content and programs, provide timeline feedback and partner with accountable stakeholder teams to improve the content/programs

  • Build, publish and continuously update a content and program roadmap

  • Coordinate and manage the content and program availability in Microsoft Sales Exchange (MSX) Content/Seismic

  • Capture, document and influence priority of the MSX Content/Seismic tooling requirements for sales enablement across field stakeholders

  • Partner with all stakeholders to drive content, program, MSX Content/Seismic adoption by delivering relevant, impactful and easy to leverage content

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' experience in a business planning or operations role, preferably in large enterprise-level organizations with a global footprint

  • BA Degree specializing in Business or equivalent experience

  • Product and or Sales Operation experience with technology teams/company

  • Strong project management skills: identify needs, designing effective solutions, building, and executing highly successful programs at scale through to completion

  • Effective analytical and project management skills, to deliver on time and deliver impact

  • Ability to work independently and effectively, driving successful outcomes with virtual teams

  • Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to influence and execute effectively in cross-functional environments

  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills

  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills

Location/Travel: Depending on working hours, work from home arrangements are available. Flexibility to accommodate US time zone is often required to attend critical meetings. Routine travel and international travel in support of projects and organizational alignment will be occasional up to 10% contingent upon Covid 19 travel restrictions.

Work Hours: This opportunity requires collaboration with worldwide stakeholders. Working on flexible business hours to connect with global stakeholders will be required to perform duties as outlined. Schedules will be flexible to support work-life balance and specific project/program needs.
