This is what you will do:

This individual will play a critical role in the success of the US Commercial organization. This individual will be a highly visible Commercial leader with an interface to all levels of Alexion leadership. They will partner with the US Business Unit Leads (BULs), Sales Leadership, & Brand Leads to proactively identify opportunities and to enable better decision making at Alexion. They will also support the Neurology business unit, bringing deep analytics to customer engagements and brand strategies. The individual must be confident and be an exceptionally strong collaborator, capable of contributing innovative thoughts and ideas to create meaningful value for the function and for the enterprise.

At an overall level, the individual is responsible for effectively leveraging data to uncover insights and driving Commercial strategies/tactics that are informed by those components for the Alexion US Commercial business.

You will be responsible for:

  • Proactively identifying opportunities/threats leveraging data and business context to enable better decision making within the Neuro BU and, more broadly, at Alexion

  • Acting as a central point of expertise and drive collaboration with BU leadership, brand teams, sales leadership, and Business Operations colleagues to provide advice on key strategic questions

  • Supporting the assessment of Commercial strategies and tactics to quantify ROI and to make recommendations to optimize the use of existing/future resources

  • Partnering with Market Research colleagues and providing analytical support to assess programs and tools

  • Proactively tracking and synthesizing the competitive environment, analyzing threats and opportunities, developing market models, and forecasting scenarios with business impact

  • Collaborating with leadership and within Business Operations to support Commercial strategies and tactics using data and derived insights, which contribute directly to the growth and optimization of Alexion’s business

  • Evolving analytical tools and methods

  • Responsively providing high quality solutions and answers to ad-hoc analytic requests

    You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or other quantitative discipline

  • Advanced knowledge and application of analytics, modeling, and valuation concepts (NPV, ROI, IRR) in the biopharmaceutical industry

  • Exceptional communication and creative problem-solving skills

  • Understanding of organizational dynamics and ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Confidence and ability to present complex information concisely and effectively to all audiences, including senior leaders and groups

  • Strong analytical and organization skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to anticipate future Commercial trends and to integrate that context into business practices

  • Desire and ability to learn/implement new tools and capabilities

  • Experience leading technical teams and individuals across geographies

  • Track record of effective functional and cross-functional collaboration and leadership

  • Detail-oriented, self-starter, able to work both independently and in a team environment

  • Curiosity

  • The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment.     We would prefer for you to have:

  • 7+ years of experience in Business Analytics and/or Financial Analysis

  • MBA or advanced quantitative discipline degree preferred

  • Prior experience in rare disease
