Director, Business Development – Product Management (Remote)

Omnicell’s goal is to transform the pharmacy delivery model by continuing to build a fully autonomous pharmacy. The autonomous pharmacy will combine automation, insights, and service to deliver demonstrable outcomes to customers. Our goal is to improve patient safety, reduce labor cost, reduce drug spend and improve value in the pharmacy supply chain.

As we continue to grow, we need to evaluate new and adjacent markets in the context of what we deliver today and where we are going longer term, defining synergy with our current products, services, and capabilities. As we define our interest in broadening existing and new markets, we will evaluate potential players for partnerships and acquisitions.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Market Insight and Business Development, we are seeking a Director, Business Development whose responsibilities span 3 primary areas including business development, strategic assessment, and partnership management.

This is a highly visible role within Omnicell that will have a significant impact on the company’s growth trajectory and offers frequent exposure to leaders across the company. Critical to success in this role will be strong collaboration and communication skills, executive presence, and strategic intuition.

Responsibilities

  • Business development

  • Define and evaluate potential partnerships and acquisition targets in collaboration with product leaders and the M&A team; understand potential partners’ capabilities, success in the market, and alignment with our existing products and services; create a framework for prioritization among opportunities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external targets aligned to business opportunities

  • Define parameters of business relationships/relationships structures for product partnerships that create partnership success

  • Participate in and lead elements of due diligence activities

  • Strategic assessment

  • Lead internal strategy consulting projects to support Omnicell’s NA commercial team in the assessment of a variety of strategic questions

  • Support development of a multi-year, cross-functional market strategy that evaluates new market growth opportunities defining where Omnicell is best positioned to build on current growth; re-evaluate annually or bi-annually to continuously evolve our market understanding and strategy as the market continues to change

  • Partnership management

  • Manage and optimize relationships with partner organizations to ensure that the goals of the collaboration are achieved; proactively identify and resolve conflicts as they arise

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Broad strategic and pragmatic experience across the healthcare continuum in a combination of management consulting, strategy & business development, investment banking, private equity/venture capital, and/or product management roles

  • Solid operational experience and strategic/consulting experience, connecting the dots across functions

  • Knowledge of healthcare market structure - players, economic drivers, revenue models, and funds flow across the system, connections across the market and system, regulatory sensitivities

  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and create and build frameworks for assessment

  • Excellent collaboration and communications skills

  • Sound business judgment and analytical skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals in a wide variety of functional areas and seniority levels

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 10 years of experience in management consulting, strategy & business development, investment banking, private equity/venture capital, and/or product management roles

  • 3+ years of experience within healthcare industries

  • 3 years evaluating acquisition and partnership opportunities

  • Demonstrated ability to execute in a high growth, fast-changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Financial awareness and ability to drive and support growth modeling

  • MBA

Work Conditions

  • Fully or partially remote position

  • Travel up to 25%
