VMware Director, Business Development AWS - Opportunity for Working Remotely in Boston, Massachusetts

Director, AWS Business Development

VMware and AWS, two of the largest cloud computing companies in the world, are expanding their relationship in new areas. There is an incredibly diverse and growing set of customers and ecosystem partners leveraging joint solutions from VMware and AWS for modern application development, cloud management, unified endpoint management, secure access service edge, security and more. VMware is looking for an executive leader to own and evolve this element of the partnership with AWS worldwide.

The successful candidate will be a team player and leader with the ability to navigate a startup environment in a large organization. As a self-starter, the ideal candidate should have experience in market development of cloud infrastructure services as well as development and management of large, complex partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the VMware co-sell partnership with AWS spanning multiple VMware business groups

  • Develop the global VMware/AWS co-sell strategy and implement and measure against a plan for co-sell motion with AWS across business groups

  • Define and attain objectives and key results for the related areas of business performance (revenue, market share, number of customers, etc.) collectively and across business groups

  • Identify levers for improving and champion necessary initiatives to attain key results and objectives

  • Work with global cross-functional VMware teams including field sales, product groups, industry, marketing, and other partner and ecosystem groups to develop GTM programs that drive strong sales of VMware products with and through AWS

  • Achieve revenue and design win targets

  • Act as the voice of the customer and partner to VMware product leadership driving product changes, feature requests, and market requirements

  • Lead by positive example, consistently demonstrating the VMware EPIC2 values

Requirements

  • Demonstrated track record in business development, sales, sales management, or alliance management in the high-tech industry with cloud/SaaS experience preferred

  • Highly organized and data-driven approach to managing multiple simultaneous projects

  • Inquisitive and active listener with the ability to interact successfully with executives, product teams, and sales leadership across VMware and AWS

  • Ability to develop plans and achieve objectives cross-functionally without direct reporting ties

  • Joint business plan development skills across differing business and product groups

  • Able to work across multi-functional and matrixed organization to achieve desired results

  • Flexible with an outstanding team mindset – we work and win as one team

This job may require the candidate to travel and/or work from a facility that requires full vaccination prior to entry.
