CBS Television Stations consists of 29 owned-and-operated stations, including 16 that are part of the CBS Television Network, eight affiliates of The CW Network, three independent stations and two MyNetworkTV affiliates. Among its stations are WCBS-TV and WLNY-TV (New York), KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV (Los Angeles), WBBM-TV (Chicago), KYW-TV and WPSG-TV (Philadelphia), KTVT-TV and KTXA-TV (Dallas-Ft. The Digital Promotion Producer will help build the brand of WBZ and CBS Boston through digital and social media channels. We are looking for someone who is equally passionate about local storytelling and social media. You will help drive traffic to both on-air and online entities through the production and sharing of content through social media and digital platforms. This hybrid position will work across news, digital and creative services departments to meet overlapping goals. You will be embedded within the news/digital realm, working with managers, assignment desk and key personnel to identify daily content to extend brand and drive viewer and user engagement. We want someone who can work collaboratively as well as embrace the responsibility and freedom to develop new ideas and implement innovative media trends. 3+ years of social media experience and knowledge of industry trends a must. Editing (Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere, etc.) and design (Photoshop) skillset strongly encouraged.


Primary responsibilities

  • Produce and share content across WBZ social media and digital platforms

o Share topical SOTs and video in real-time to drive to on-air

§ Identify and coordinate content with digital and news

o Highlight key moments from newscasts to share across platforms

§ Live tweet newscasts in real-time

o Development of news content extensions into social media

§ Facebook videos, both pre- and post-airing on WBZ News

o Assist in execution of overall WBZ Brand Marketing strategies on digital

o Work with Digital team to execute ongoing social media strategies
