What You'll Do Here:
As a member of Creative Studio as part of the Global Production group, the Designer will primarily be responsible for conceiving, and executing visual design solutions for Cengage products. As the creative lead on projects, you will be responsible for organizing brainstorms, initiating the conceptual process, and creating designs for a variety of digital media and platforms.

The Senior Designer rolerequires hands-on technical design expertise, combined with excellent communication and organizational skills.This demanding and creative role requires a committed and responsible person, who continually expands their skill set and knowledge, and can meet tight deadlines,on budget, and with quality results.
Execute hands-on priority digital and print designs supporting diverse disciplines
Conceptualize and create visual design assets to the highest industry standards, for use in educational productsfor both digital and traditional media products
Create cover designs, interior layouts, illustrations, wireframes, and prototypes, using tools such as the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Sketch, and InVision
Collaborate with stakeholders to establish and articulate design objectives
Serve as a catalyst for creativity
Thoughtfully discuss content, style, audience, technique, and budgetary considerations
Provide guidance and education to colleagues in the area of design
Make appropriate assignments to freelancers to achieve design objectives
Establish and monitor design budgets for assigned projects
Ensure compliance with and implementation of corporate design standards
Maintain and manage a diverse portfolio of assets
Work closely with the Design Directors to implement new processes that support innovation, excellence, and promote a positive working environment
Skills You Will Need Here:
Bachelor’s or Associates degree in graphic or media design
Minimum 3 years’ experience in graphic or media design
Extensive experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
Proficiency in using Adobe InDesign
Proficiency in using Adobe Illustrator
Competency in using Sketch, Axure, and InVision
Able to adapt quickly to new technology, and learn new software in an environment of continuous improvement
Proficiency of layout, graphic design, composition, and color theory
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate design strategy to non-design stakeholders
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise independent judgment
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to plan, schedule and meet deadlines
Applicant will include a portfolio of work that demonstrates hands-on digital and print design, creative problem solving and original thinking
Understanding of web and digital design principles and best practices
Understanding of presentation layer technologies (HTML, CSS, JS)
Experience with a wide variety of media types (e.g. animation, video, infographics, interactive graphics)
Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Animate
