Meta Data Science Manager, Ads and Business Products (ABP) in Boston, Massachusetts

Summary:

Facebook’s Ads and Business Products serves over 140M businesses and 7M advertisers. Our advertising tools and Interfaces are the face of Facebook to these businesses and span desktop, mobile and API—through which they manage the vast majority of Facebook’s revenue. Our Ads and Business Orgs mission is to make meaningful connections between people and businesses. ABP empowers advertisers to confidently communicate their business goals to Facebook and covers our delivery products, ads optimization products, signals, ads ranking, and ads infra - it touches all advertisers and all ads across all of Facebooks apps: Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, etc. We are looking for a seasoned leader who can navigate the technical complexity of the space and the solutions while also managing and supporting a broad and diverse range of stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working closely with Engineering and Product leads, have previous experience managing managers, and will have a strong technical/statistical background. As a data science leader you will set strategic product direction through data, influence cross-company stakeholders, and grow a data science team. This is a highly impactful space, providing the opportunity to build global solutions that scale to a broad range of important problems and affect billions of people.

Required Skills:

Data Science Manager, Ads and Business Products (ABP) Responsibilities:

  1. Help build and lead a great data science team to deliver world-class products

  2. Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and understand how our users interact with our core products

  3. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities

  4. Provide mentorship to the team on both technical and strategic direction

  5. Inform, influence, support, and execute our product decisions

  6. Cultivate culture of analytics and experimentation excellence ensuring high quality analytics output

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. MS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, operations research, econometrics, computer science, engineering), or BS/MS in a quantitative discipline with equivalent working experience

  2. 4+ years of experience in team leadership/people management through layers

  3. Track-record driving product roadmap and execution

  4. Experience working effectively with multiple stakeholders and cross-functionally

  5. Experience communicating both in low-level technical details as well as high-level strategies

  2. 6+ years of experience doing quantitative analysis, statistical modeling or machine learning in the experimentation space
