Clinical Effectiveness (CE) – a market-leading, mission-driven business unit of Wolters Kluwer Health – is seeking an experienced Creative Director to lead our creative teams and creative vision for our leading patient engagement solution, Emmi. Emmi brings health consumer engagement solutions to our health system and health plan clients, helping them promote patient and member care plan adherence, optimized health improvement and to encourage healthy behavior changes.

Reporting to the VP Patient Engagement, the Creative Director is responsible for content creation, as well development and strategic planning for content, while establishing and maintaining the creative aesthetic of Emmi. Additionally, this role is responsible for the direct management of production staff as well as vendor relationships.
The Creative Director guides all content through the production process while interfacing with implementation, customer success and product teams. Lastly, the Creative Director will participate in and contribute to new business activities and client engagements that lead to well-deployed patient and consumer health solution experiences.
The primary office location for this role is Chicago, IL. Remote location is a possibility.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Define and manage the creative vision for all content creation, translating a combination of consumer user needs and client objectives into clear creative strategies
Draw from your holistic understanding of the entire creative process to identify and deploy great copy, design, UI/UX and program design
Guide visual aesthetic, consistency, and evolution for all patient products
Ensure visuals, messaging, and interactive elements of all products are properly aligned with the creative vision and aesthetic standards
Participate in creative and concept designs, including new product and brand development projects
Establish timelines for short-term and long-term projects to support the product roadmap, plan tasks accordingly, and ensure goals and deadlines are met
Review and approve designs and other types of graphics created by production team
Present designs to clients for approval
Ensure the execution of all creative work stays within budget
Mentor, motivate and supervise the creative and production teams
Assist in hiring and managing freelance creative team members when necessary
Own the full creative cycle, from concept development through final production and including execution, evaluation and performance
Optimize processes to allow for increased efficiency and effectiveness
Any and all other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred
5+ years of experience in a creative team leadership role serving a broad, unique portfolio of clients simultaneously
3+ years of experience in Creative Director role preferred
Confident in a versatile portfolio that demonstrates strong creativity and vision
Skilled in art direction, typography, composition, and visual storytelling
Obsessed with quality and clarity of message
Embraces technology and actively remains up-to-date on current and upcoming trends, software, tools and workflows
Possesses effective time management skills and the ability to coach others in this area
Pushes creative boundaries without pushing everyone else's buttons; collaborative, curious, and happy to give and receive helpful feedback
Driven and organized to work in a matrixed, team environment
Copywriting and photography experience helpful
Especially proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
Proficiency in HTML/CSS preferred
Finds joy in leading a team and helping others
