The Role

A Copywriter/Technical Writer for Via Benefits at Willis Towers Watson provides and cultivates content for participant-facing materials for pre-tax products. The person who fits this role needs to be a self-starter, have an excellent eye for detail, and prioritize consistency in voice and tone.

Performance Objectives

  • Write participant-facing collateral to enhance and support the overall user experience

  • Support creation of internal collateral to help other departments follow our work

  • Consult with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to meet the needs of the communication deliverable

  • Take initiative to dig into subject matter to ensure accuracy while maintaining brand guidelines

  • Utilize and promote language guidelines and terminology

  • Gather missing information to unify the user experience

  • Incorporate feedback from intensive external review

  • Take ownership of projects to ensure completion within deadlines

  • Ensure client satisfaction through the delivery of high-quality writing and polished deliverables

  • Engage with granular details and potential scenarios to create materials that apply to multiple situations

  • Support writing, editing, and proofreading needs of other teams and lines of business

  • Actively participate in meeting team objectives

The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Writing, or a related field required

  • 5+ years of experience as a copywriter

  • 2+ years of experience in related industry

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

  • Adaptability to new software

  • Acumen for technical writing and technical products

  • Very strong attention to detail and willingness to research accuracy of information

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues with messaging and find workable solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to convert technical information into understandable language, within bounds of the brand’s voice and tone

  • Familiarity with working within compliance and regulatory requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team

  • Excellent written, interpersonal and presentation communication skills

  • Demonstrated proofreading skills

  • Well-organized with excellent ability to juggle competing priorities and remain calm under pressure

  • Strong initiative, drive, and resilience

  • Personable and approachable
