Wolters Kluwer Content & Technical Writer-RFP Writer in Boston, Massachusetts

Under general supervision, responsible for writing technical copy for various operation and maintenance manuals and technical publications. Prepares outline of contents and written text. Coordinates layout and organization of manuals and other documents. Interprets necessary data, drawings, and specifications through research and liaison with technical staff. May direct lower level writers and coordinate efforts of editors and illustrators. Requires working knowledge of organization product line(s), customer requirements, purpose and structure of document, and user's level of understanding.

We are looking for a RFP/Technical Writer to join our North American Presales Team supporting the CCH Tagetik product Line Corporate Performance Management.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background and understanding of Finance business process management / enterprise software and security considerations, two or more years of experience responding to technical RFPs from large firms’ organizations, coupled with strong writing skills.

The ideal candidate should have good time and project management skills to ensure that proposals are submitted accurately and on time. Experience with proposals for contract management or service desk software is a plus.


  • Determine proposal requirements by identifying and clarifying objectives within the RFPs.

  • Gather proposal information by identifying sources of information and coordinating with key providers and other internal contributors for additional information if needed.

  • Produce quality responses to RFPs by following proposal-writing standards including readability, consistency, and tone.

  • Obtain approvals and submit completed proposal to the requester

  • Establish priorities and target dates to ensure that the proposals are submitted on time.

  • Maintain records of all proposals submitted and received.

  • Gather and store feedback on proposals to help improve proposal content and process.


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  • Finance background and experience with enterprise software.

  • 2+ years of experience responding to technical RFPs.

  • Excellent writing, organizational, communication and planning skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of Proposal SW tools (i.e. Qvidian) is a plus

  • Ability to manage deadlines efficiently.

  • Strong critical thinking ability.

  • Go-getter mentality

  • Ability to work independently yet collaboratively with other departments (i.e. Sales, Product Management, Marketing, etc)

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite for Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required
